Description
Laissez-vous séduire par le musée Karen Blixen, inspiré par l'histoire de la vie de Karen, l'un des pionniers de la caféiculture à Nairobi. Elle a également inspiré la réalisation du célèbre film Out of Africa. Le centre Giraffe est une destination de conservation rendue célèbre par Daisy Rothschild, un veau girafe retrouvé à la frontière occidentale du Kenya. Visitez le centre semi-sauvage et apprenez-en davantage sur le cycle de la vie et les habitudes d'accouplement de ces animaux imposants, puis observez-les se nourrir. Vous en apprendrez également sur les efforts de conservation autour des girafes. Promenez-vous sur le magnifique sentier d'interprétation de la nature qui longe la rivière Gogo et tentez également d'observer les girafes à l'état sauvage.

Le Karen Blixen est une maison construite en 1912 et était la maison de l'auteur emblématique de «Out of Africa», Karen Blixen. Il a été ouvert au public en 1986 en tant que musée où les visiteurs peuvent faire une visite guidée des caractéristiques de la maison, des salles conçues à la fois dans le décor original et avec les accessoires du film de 1985. Voir les dessins et les peintures de Karen Blixen, une salle de projection de films, une exposition documentaire sur sa vie et son travail.
Le Giraffe Centre abrite des girafes Rothschild en voie de disparition, que l'on ne trouve que dans les régions semi-arides d'Afrique, où les arbres et les arbustes abondent. C'est un endroit tout à fait unique pour voir et connaître les espèces animales les plus hautes; La girafe.

Excellent tour hosted by Paul. We were well looked after throughout, and also took us to additional spots outside of the itinerary including the Kazuri bead factory and some additional Karen Blizen frequented spots. Genuine, interesting and approachable tour guide who is more than just a driver for us. Whilst it is a half day tour and timings might be tightbfor bigger groups to see both sites comfortably, he does ensure you get the most out of both sites. If you book the later slot (12.30pm) be prepared your return to your hotel will mean getting stuck in the famous Nairobi rush hour traffic! Highly recommend and if we return, we will use again.

We travelled to the Giraffe center in Nairobi and the Karen Blixen Museum. Our guide Paul did an excellent job of showing us these sights as well as a couple of neat side trips.

Loved our guide, James. Very informative and set us up with great tours and experiences at the Giraffe Center and the Karen Blixen Museum. Also, made a side trip to the Bead factory. While driving, gave us a lot of insight about the different areas. Highly recommend this experience and hope you get James as your guide!

Paul, the guide, was very friendly and attentive, making sure everything went smoothly. The museum is rather for people interested in Karen Blixen, whereas the Giraffe Center offers a nice form of infotainment: feeding giraffes and learning about them.

We had a fantastic day tour with the tour guide, Paul. He was very thorough in introducing the Giraffe centre and the Karen Blixen museum. Also took us to various shops for souvenir. We highly recommend this half tour.

I truly enjoyed the tour, the giraffe centre was a great experience and the museum of Karen Blixen brought me back in time. Roselyne was very responsive in the reservation process and very accommodating in adding several stops to our tour to meet our specific requests. Our driver, Ken, spoke excellent English and was very helpful to my wife who has mobility issues. Whatever your needs are in Nairobi you need look no further.
