Wonderful tour with Joanne (Jo). She was very engaging and knowledgeable. Five hour tour was a perfect amount of time for us to see the sights we wanted.
Hi Anita, thank you so much for the wonderful review! We’re delighted to hear that you had such a great time with Jo. She really enjoys bringing Munich’s history to life, and we’ll be sure to pass your kind words on to her. Five hours is a great way to see plenty of the city without feeling rushed, so we’re very pleased the tour worked so well for you. Thanks again for joining us, and we hope you took away some fantastic memories of Munich! Best, Taff :-)
We liked seeing the places where events took place. It was a hot day and our poor guide was sweating as we all were. She did her best under the circumstances.
Thank you for your review! We're delighted you enjoyed seeing the places where history actually happened. As for the weather... unfortunately, even our guides haven't yet figured out how to control that. It was certainly one of those days when everyone was melting together! We're glad your guide kept going despite the heat and did everything she could to make sure you still had an enjoyable experience. Thanks again, and if you decide to join us another time, we'll see if we can arrange for slightly less enthusiastic sunshine.
Taff was a wonderful guide! He has so much knowledge and information to impart. It was a very informative tour. He kept all of our attention. Even stopped at a beergarten for a break during the tour. Would highly recommend Taff's tour!
Thank you so much for your kind words! It was a real pleasure showing you around Munich and sharing its history with you. I'm delighted you found the tour informative and engaging—and that you liked our little beergarden break. Sometimes a cold drink is just as important to understanding Bavarian culture as the history itself. Thank you for the recommendation. It means a great deal, and I hope our paths cross again on another adventure in the future. Safe travels! Best, Taff
Everything was so close in proximity. Learned more about the origins of the “broken cross,” the meaning of the flowers & leaves & the rewards related to those, and beginning of Hitlers reign and the multiple attempts to kill him.
Taff brought history to life on this outstanding walk through time. Extremely well organized with time to go into great detail on subjects of interest to me as a WWII history buff. Taff is very personable as well as knowledgeable thus making the tour both informative and filled with humorous moments. We especially enjoyed the Augustiner Bier at an off the beaten path walk up window mid tour on a warm day. Taff also provided us with recommendations for things to do in Munich your typical Rick Steves fan wouldn't find in his books. I highly recommend this tour for anyone interested in a deep dive into the history of Hitler's rise to power and the importance of Munich and Bavaria in this black mark on mankind.
Dear Bill, thank you for your thoughtful review. It was a pleasure to show fellow history buffs- and fans of Bavarian beer - around. Next time you are here, please don't be shy: we scratched the surface. Best, Taff Simon
Taff is a great historian and storyteller! We enjoyed our day and learned a lot. It was an excellent orientation to Munich.
Thank you so much for your kind review! I'm really pleased you enjoyed the tour and that you found it both informative and engaging; it is such an important part of history. I always try to bring the history to life through the stories behind the people and places, so it's wonderful to hear that came across. I'm also delighted that the tour gave you a good orientation to Munich. It's a city with an incredible history, and I hope it inspired you to explore even more during the rest of your stay. Thanks again, and I hope to welcome you back to Munich one day! Best, Taff
Highly recommend! Taff was a great guide and brought lots of pictures and props which kept the kids highly engaged. We all learned a lot!
Thank you so much for your lovely review! I'm delighted to hear that both you and the kids enjoyed the tour. Keeping younger historians engaged isn't always easy, so I'm really pleased the photographs and props helped bring the history to life for everyone. It was a pleasure spending the day with your family, and I'm so glad you all came away having learned something new. Thank you again for the recommendation, and I hope to welcome you back to Munich in the future! Best, Taff
This tour was easily my husband’s and son’s favorite tour of our whole trip. The guide was so knowledgeable and excited about the topic. My son mentioned how he really enjoyed having someone to talk to about WW2 while walking between sites. Our tour was exactly what we were hoping it would be!
Taff was a wonderful guide! He took us around Munich on a Third Reich Private Tour and our experience could not have been better. The tour was informative and well-paced; Taff is incredibly engaging and knowledgable—he even brought pieces of literature, photos, and artifacts to assist and enhance the storytelling. 100% would recommend him to anyone looking for a historical tour in Munich!
Hi Nathalie, thank you for your kind words. I'm so glad you enjoyed it so much; as you gathered on the tour, I'm very lucky to be doing a job I love and like nothing better than to share that passion - sometimes over a beer :-) - with guests like you two. If you are here again, please don't be shy. Best, Taff Simon
This is the second year in a row dark History tours has taken great care of us. The level of expertise, the way the history is explained, the amazing customer service all adds up to the very best experience. As a former Army officer there is a level of detail and expertise that we expect. Dia well exceeded all of our expectations. If you're looking for a down to earth but extremely high-quality experience, I would look no further.
