Pricey for what you get...

The tour guides Patrick and Mary were really nice. They provided a lot of information, made sure all questions were answered, and the driver was efficient. I am taking off stars due to the high cost for one person. This was in no way a nearly $700 experience. As for the actual tour, there were a lot of stairs involved. You should be in pretty good shape, but Mary was good at checking in to make sure I was doing ok during the hike. The monastery is bare bones with a communal shower and toilet in a separate building across the compound, so that may be something to consider if you are prone to waking to use the toilet in the middle of the night. Both guides were good with speaking English.

Dear Heather, Thank you very much for taking the time to share your feedback with us. We are very glad to hear that you enjoyed the service from Patrick, Mary, and our driver, and that you found the guiding informative and supportive throughout the trip. At the same time, we truly appreciate your comments regarding the overall value, the number of stairs involved, and the monastery accommodation experience. Mt. Emei does involve a fair amount of walking and climbing, and your feedback is a helpful reminder for us to make this more clearly stated in our tour description so that future travelers can better assess whether the pace and physical level are suitable for them. Regarding the accommodation, thank you as well for pointing this out. We understand that monastery lodging is a very different experience from a standard hotel stay, and it may not suit every traveler. We will review how this is presented in the product details to ensure expectations are clearer in advance. Thank you again for traveling with us and for recognizing our guides’ efforts. Your feedback is valuable to us as we continue improving both the experience and the way we present it to future guests.

To do, superb excursion

A wonderful and perfect excursion thanks to the professionalism of the guide, Patrick and the flexibility of the driver. The guide has always offered us several plans, he adapted very well to our requests (walking rather than the cable car, sleeping in a monastery and not in the hotel, etc). We enjoyed a lot of temples that he knows very well, he is native of Emeishan. It is both efficient, attentive and discreet. The discovery of the Great Buddha by boat is magical and at night in the monastery a very nice experience, even if it was disused.

Enjoyable and fruitful 2 days tour

The China agent, driver and tour guide are patient and helpful. The tour guide is so knowledgeable and knows the fastest way to bring us around. The driver is very warm and gives us useful advice moving around Chengdu. But the service rendered by Viator isn't as good.

Remarkable trip with Lucy

We got a 2-day 1-night trip with Lucy. The first day we visited the giant buddha by boat then stayed in temple for the night. We got a chance to discuss with the second master of the temple which marks a lot in my spirit. Our guide Lucy is a local in Chengdu. She's so nice and thoughtful. She shared a lot of knowledge about the region. The second day started with a kungfu class with a master who's also the head of the kungfu school in the region. He also teaches kungfu in Germany. We learned a tiny bit of kungfu spirit. I'd sure continue in the future. The climb up on the Emei mountain is quite hard. I took the cable car while Lucy guided others by stairs. It was cold bit definitely worth. Thank you again Lucy!
