Must do experience for all cricket fans. So many childhood memories relived. So much history of the stadium. John from the MCG guide team was an absolute champ showing us around the belly of the beast called the 'G'. Thanks John!
There is a bit of walking and stairs to go down to the grounds and then back up again but it is spread over a time period so you have to time to rest.
A must do place when in Melbourne ✅ We targeted to go to MCG the moment we decided to be in Melbourne; and actually we wound up doing this the first thing on the first day. We are, in deed, glad that we did so. Most highly recommended for all Visitors to MEL 😍
It was great and memorable visit My visit to the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) was truly an unforgettable and memorable experience. From the moment I arrived, I could feel the incredible history, atmosphere, and sporting spirit that makes the MCG such an iconic place. Walking through this legendary stadium and seeing the enormous seating areas, historic displays, and world-class facilities was absolutely fascinating. What impressed me most was the rich sporting heritage of the MCG and the many unforgettable moments that have taken place here over the years. The atmosphere inside the stadium was special even when there wasn’t a major match happening. It gave me a real appreciation for why the MCG is considered one of the greatest sporting venues in the world. It was a wonderful experience for me and my family, and definitely one of the highlights of our Melbourne visit. I would highly recommend visiting the MCG to anyone travelling to Melbourne. It is not just a stadium—it is a place filled with history, memories, passion, and unforgettable sporting stories. A truly remarkable experience that I will remember for a long time!
This tour was worth every cent. From walking in, security guards were friendly and helpful, as was the ticket sales young lady. Then Volunteer Brian took us through the MCG. Brian was just the best and we truly want to thank you for your time and your knowledge. Brian was so enthusiastic, knowledgable, passionate and just a really friendly guy. I didn’t think I’d enjoy it as much as I did. Absolutely a fabulous experience. Thank you MCG and Brian, Lyn, Martin, Anne and Gary.
The guide was very good, took time to explain along the tour. Very personable and very knowledgeable.
It was such an interesting and informative tour. Paul, our guide was across all the information and history of the MCC/MCG. He came across as a genuinely kind and professional volunteer. My sister and I enjoyed the tour immensely.
To see inside the ‘G’ and behind scene rooms is a great experience A lot to explore and see first hand a great sport stadium
Very informative and interesting. Guide was very informative and showed a good insight into the MCG.
I have done this twice now, the short tour. Make sure you wear warm clothes if going in winter. Walking shoes as you are walking or standing majority of the time. The sports museum is worth a visit.
