Just be aware of traffic times and take something to distract yourself on the wait, that's not something the tour guides can control
Galie was a very nice host. We went to Fridas house first and got some history before entering the museum solo. Would have liked more time to visit the local market nearby vs visiting Trotskys house which was off track and not very interesting. Make sure you are a Frida fan to take the tour. We then visited Xochimilico which was colorful. We were able to purchase food from other boats passing by that was fairly tasty. Nice folks on our boat but felt a bit pressured to purchase his silver jewelry which was a bit uncomfortable and really should not be part of the tour.
Gabriela, from Frida Tours, was an excellent guide, covering both the history and the features of the area of Frida Kahlo's home.
This tour is not accurately advertised. The details state you will get 2 hours at Frida Kahlo museum and 2 hours in Coyoacan. We spent the whole morning going to random sites around the city that were not on the itinerary (aside from the university). Got to Xochimilco at lunchtime then by the time we got to FK museum it was 3:30. We then only had an hour in the museum and were told we were not able to visit Coyoacan, only those who did not have the museum tickets could go while we were in the museum. Really disappointing and felt a bit robbed as that was one of the main reasons I chose the tour. We then spent an hour dropping everyone off around Centro in CDMX and those staying in Polanco were made to sit in all of the city traffic and be dropped off last. Would have made much more sense to go straight up the highway to Polanco (20min from Coyoacan) and then through the city to do stops there and then only those actually staying in the city would be subjected to the traffic. In the end I got home 90 minutes later than I needed have done. Giving this 2 stars only because I realised on the morning that the pickup location on my confirmation was wrong, I called the office to notify them and they quickly got another van out to me at the correct location. Otherwise would have been 1 star. Very frustrated by the itinerary and the entire morning felt wasted visiting shops and sites that were of no interest to anyone on the tour. Should have just gone straight to Xochimilco in the morning then would have had time for both the museum and Coyoacan in the afternoon.
We loved this tour and found it to be a great way to visit multiple sites in one day. Our tour guide, Alan, took great care of us and was very knowledgeable on Mexican history. He did a great job leading us through a long tour. We definitely appreciated the pick up/drop off service as well. Overall this was a fun and informative day!
Covered a variety of different locations and provided great insight into the Mexican culture and the development of Mexico City.
I was fun and very informative. Joel and Marcos were excellent tour guides. There were many activities planned for this tour and it ran smoothly. Must do tour in Mexico City. Marcos has a wealth of knowledge about Mexico City that made the tour so very interesting.
We were first taken to a tourist trap where we watched a demo basically for engraving by hand. Then we went to UNAM library but only saw from outside (even though tour said 1hr). Next we stopped at Aztec stadium for a photo op on the side of the road on the way to Xochimilco. We only had 1 hr boat ride and no time to explore the area (tour was supposed to be 2 hrs). Lastly we went to Frida Kahlo museum. We had tickets booked so they dropped our group there and the others went to explore Coyocan. We were told we had 1 hr and then we would head back to hotels…so no time to explore Coyocan. (We were supposed to get 2 hrs in Coyocan and 2 hrs in Frida Kahlo museum). We ended up staying and ubering back. I would NOT recommend this company (Wayak Tours)
A very full, very fulfilling day! Xochimilco is a must for any first time visitor to CDMX, and simply put, Frida Kalo's house is one of the world's most inspirational museums. This tour covers both, as well as stops to UNAM and the Coyoacan plaza and market. Our guide was very knowledgable and friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend!
We had a great day with Francisco! He had a nice personal and energetic Francisco and was flexible when we were more interested in a location. Lunch on the Trajinera was a great experience!
