Cruise guide was very informative, sadly we did not encounter Nessie. Castle experience was excellent with great views.
Very professional and on time. Also breathtaking sites seen with a well experienced tour guide cum bus driver.
The cruise part of this tour was wonderful! The castle ruins were equally as wonderful, however there was not enough time! One hour to see parts of the ruins and watch the 10 minute film left zero time for anything else! We didn’t even go up into all the areas of the ruins. Now, the disappointing part. The bus driver. Not only was he opinionated in everything he talked about, he shamed my daughter by making a mockery of her size using hand gestures, telling us to sit in the front assuming she was somehow disabled (which she absolutely is not). He also embarrassed the last 3 people to arrive to the tour, making a mockery of them for being late over the microphone (they arrived at 0914) and the time of the tour was 0915. Although I would absolutely recommend seeing these sites, I would not book it with this group again. Shop around. The Scottish people are far too friendly and kind and I’m sure there are plenty of other ways to enjoy these places without the sour musings of a German bus driver that needs to retire.
The Loch Ness tour and castle was a great choice. We just arrived into the city of Inverness and this was a nice duo to add to our packed schedule. I’m glad I added the castle tour into the experience.
The boat trip on Loch Ness is beautiful, it is certainly worth it. The castle is also an interesting visit. What I didn't like about the excursion in general is how rushed everything is. Upon arriving at the pier, which would be worth having a few minutes to admire the scenery and take some photos, you have to go directly to board so as not to miss the boat, and at the castle, the time felt very short for us. We couldn't see it in its entirety, despite moving at a good pace. I would add 30 more minutes at the castle, and about 10 minutes at the pier, so there is at least time to take a photo with the hairy coos.
Hi there, Thank you for your feedback, we will pass this on to our visitor experience manager who is always looking for ways to improve our operation. Kind regards, The Jacobite Team
Our bus driver and captain were very funny and the views were amazing! The castle ruins are fun to explore but be prepared for a lot of walking up and down steep stairs and pathways.
Nice cruise on the north side of Loch Ness, we had a beautiful afternoon and were able to do the whole trip outside. The arrival at the castle is spectacular and the captain made a very scenic approach so we could take impressive photos. The castle is the best part, an absolute delight. Very well explained with panels that tell you the history of the place. The ruins are well preserved and the paths cover the whole area, with truly spectacular viewpoints of the castle and Loch Ness. Since we were on an excursion, we only did the one-way trip. I think it is the best option.
Hi there, Thank you for your review! We are so pleased you enjoyed the cruise and castle. That is great to hear the weather was in your favour. We hope to welcome you back on board with us again soon! Kind regards, The Jacobite Team
The entire trip was great. I would especially like to highlight the bus driver. He showed all the sights and had interesting and quirky stories about them. His pronunciation was very, very clear. He even had a few carrots with him for "bribery" so that we could pet a Highland cow bull on the way. The guide on the boat was also great!
Hi there, Thank you for your 5 star rating and review! We are so pleased you enjoyed the cruise and will pass your compliments onto our crew and the coach company. We hope to welcome you back on board with us again soon! Kind regards, The Jacobite Team
I was very disappointed in the boat ride. They had an audio piped throughout the boat, which could not be heard because everyone who was not interested in the information was talking over it. They should have headsets so that those who want to listen can do so. If you’re interested in seeing the Urquhart Castle, should go by land, and take a guided tour or walk around and read the few signs posted. But , the boat ride itself, was uninformative, because it could not be heard.
Thank your for your feedback. We do appreciate you letting us know about the audio and the idea of headsets. I will be sure to pass this on to the relevant team and crew. Team Jacobite
Our bus driver was a great local resource who pointed out a number of things on both the way to the cruise and after. Also, the guide on the cruise was also very informative. Both had a very good sense of humor which further enhanced both trips. The castle was also a wonderful experience. We highly recommend this trip to everyone. We would also recommend wind and rain gear, because it is Scotland and the weather could change from minute to minute.
