This activity was extraordinary in every way. Done in a charming art studio in the heart of the city, we could not have asked for a more relaxing, enjoyable experience. Our instructor Jen was just wonderful. She was so friendly and explained every step of the process clearly, helping us to make adjustments as we went. The whole process was made so easy by the fact that everything was set up meticulously beforehand. And the finished product, the marbled paper we made was really beautiful. This was a great activity to do with an artistically-inclined kid, but also very meditative and relaxing for a non-artistically inclined person such as myself.
Fantastic workshop. Jennifer is an excellent teacher and made the process so much fun. Great way to spend a couple of hours before our train.
This was a very unique experience and memorable for the family. We made a last minute request with small children which Jennifer accommodated graciously- I have seen this craft done before in other small studios in Florence, but this experience was unique. It was very hands on, we each got to do multiple papers, and we learned so much about the process and history- I even want to try myself at home and the kids are still talking about it!
every individual might have their own view, however for us this was waste of money. The idea of a "workshop" is that you are learning something, doing it yourself and spent a decent amount of time with practicing. We arrive, we where allowed to pore some colours in a bath, stir in it with a stick and that was the workshop. 5 min activity max. Then we needed to wit until everyone else did the same, we did not do anything but waiting. The shop assistant puts a paper on the bath with colours, the paint sticks on the paper and you get the paper home. Do not get me wrong, it is a nice activity for 5 min and gives you a better idea of how marbled paper is crafted, however a EUR 10 to EUR 20,- fee (max) for a participant would be more fitting. this does apply to all the "workshops" offered. Also competitors offered the same workshop of 5 min for the same amount.
This reviewer did not take part in my workshop on the date or month indicated and I have no record of them in any of my bookings. it is either confused with a different experience, or falsified. My workshop is not run at all As described here- our class is approximately 1.5 hours, and each guest has ample time to create multiple papers. In fact, it is one of the most hands on and in-depth workshops of this craft in Florence. Dozens of other 5-star reviews can be verified from my airbnb listing from real guests.
Jen was knowledgeable and a fantastic artist. We had a wonderful time and left with fantastic memories and art!
Such a lovely class filled with history, helpful instruction, and creativity!! Would recommend to anyone looking for a unique and welcoming experience in Florence. Thank you so much for such a great time!
My young adult daughters and I had such a fantastic time! The instructor was delightful, throat, and engaging. There was a total of seven participants, and we each designed and completed three different marbling patterns on roughly 8 x 11“ pieces of paper. We are now all inspired to continue this art work at home! And, you don’t need to be a creative or artistically talented person to make amazing pieces! Such a fun way to experience and underappreciated historical art form of Florence.
What a fabulous experience! Jen was full of knowledge about art, and the tradition of paper marbeling in Florence. She was also super encouraging and helped us get creative during the session. Everyone at home is complimenting what we made! Would definitely book again when we come back to Florence.
This was so fun! I great way to do something hands on during our trip, especially with kids- Jen was very kind and patient thank you!
This activity was a lot of fun. Jen explains everything clearly and we had a fantastic evening with friends trying something traditional and different in Florence
