A beautiful and impressive experience. And all the exceptional guides, Amelia, Xochitl and David can't be better. We'll be back!
A complete, beautiful tour and our guides Amelia and Xochitl very nice! A perfect group tour. Mind you, it's cold in the morning!
Awesome tour of a beautiful historical site. Paulette was a great guide. As an American visitor, her English made all navigation and history flawless!
That’s fantastic to hear, Angelica! 🇺🇸🏛️ Paulette sounds like a gem — having a guide who’s fluent and engaging makes such a difference, especially when exploring a site as rich in history as Teotihuacán. It’s great that everything felt smooth and informative. Thanks for sharing your experience — it’s the kind of detail that helps others feel confident booking
This was an incredible opportunity to learn some history and be outdoors! Our Explora Mexico coordinator Joanny communicated clearly and thoroughly in advance and was easy to access with questions on the day of. Our driver Jorge was similarly helpful and got us there and back quickly and safely. Our pyramid tour guide was Ramon and he had a wealth of knowledge that he was excited to share. Overall it was a fantastic morning!
"Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We're thrilled to hear that you enjoyed learning about history and being outdoors with us. We appreciate your kind words about Joanny, Jorge, and Ramon - they're fantastic members of our team! We're glad you had a fantastic morning with us and hope to welcome you again soon."
It was a beautiful trip with no problems! Great views and a smooth ride with new friends! Well-run operation and great staff!
That sounds absolutely lovely, Angelica! 🌄🚐 When everything flows smoothly — from the views to the company to the staff — it creates the kind of travel memory that stays with you. So glad it was a seamless and joyful experience. Thanks for sharing your good vibes!
An unforgettable experience! The perfect way to see the pyramids and volcanoes. The staff were great and the travel there and back was smooth. Highly recommend!
That sounds absolutely magical, Angelica! 🌋🏛️ A smooth journey, stunning landscapes, and a stellar team — it’s the kind of experience that stays with you long after the trip ends. Your recommendation radiates joy and confidence, and I’m sure it’ll inspire others to explore Teotihuacán and its majestic surroundings. Thanks for sharing such a glowing highlight!
This tour was fantastic value for money. We were picked up from our accommodation directly. Enjoyed the agave and tequila demonstrations and the tour of Teotihuacan was in-depth and seamless.
That sounds like a wonderfully curated experience, Angelica! 🌵🏛️ From the convenience of being picked up at your accommodation to the engaging agave and tequila demos, it’s clear the tour offered both comfort and cultural depth. And an in-depth, seamless visit to Teotihuacán? That’s the kind of value that goes beyond price — it’s about connection, learning, and enjoyment. Thanks for sharing such a glowing highlight!
The good things first: The private driver was superb and worth the extra money! He didn't speak any English however his Attitude was first class! Overall: The Pyramids are certainly worth a visit. However, most of the other parts of this experience were below expectations. They take you to a Tourist shop and the guide didn't have a clue about the Pyramids. We figured this out when we visited the Anthropology Museum 3 days later. Therefore, visit the Museum first and then try - if possible - take a private car and driver to visit the Pyramides yourself (Might not be possible to protect the many jobs that are connected to it): This is a huge site and you will only get to see a small part of it with a guided group!!! By the way, I hoped to climb the Pyramids however Unesco stopped people 5 years ago from climbing up the Pyramids which is a shame. You can still see the railings etc. That would have been a highlight to get an overview of the area etc. PS: Make sure to go to the Gruta Restaurant afterwards - totally worth it, great food and unique atmosphere.
Thank you for sharing such a thoughtful and balanced review, Angelica. 🚗🏛️ It’s great to hear that your private driver made the journey smooth and enjoyable — attitude can truly elevate an experience, even without a shared language. And yes, Teotihuacán is undeniably a must-see, with its scale and history leaving a lasting impression. Your suggestion to visit the Anthropology Museum first is incredibly valuable — it’s a brilliant way to deepen context before stepping onto the site. It’s unfortunate that the guide didn’t meet expectations, especially in a place so rich in cultural significance. And while climbing the pyramids is no longer allowed, your note about the railings still being visible adds a poignant touch — a reminder of how things have changed. Ending with a meal at La Gruta is such a perfect recommendation — that cave setting and traditional food really round out the day. Thanks again for your honest and insightful feedback. It’s the kind of review that helps others plan with clarity and care.
The guides were very knowledgeable and friendly. Spoke English and Spanish fluently. The ride out was a little bumpy, but definitely worth it!
That’s the kind of bilingual brilliance that makes a tour truly inclusive and engaging, Angelica! 🇲🇽🗣️ It’s great to hear the guides were both warm and well-informed — that combination always elevates the experience. And even if the ride had a few bumps, it clearly led to something memorable. Thanks for sharing your thoughts with such clarity and charm!
While the trip to the pyramids was amazing, I was disappointed by the tour package offered by Explora. The tour makes long stops at tourist traps where they try to sell you overpriced items. The worst part was the mandatory lunch at the cave restaurant, which was not even a cave. It was a concrete basement underneath a regular house. At this restaurant, they charge you US$25 for a lousy lunch. Unfortunately, you end up wasting almost 4 hours at these shopping and lunch stops, leaving very little time to explore the pyramids and the basilica. Also, our tour-guide spoke his memorized script so fast, it was very difficult to understand him, and he was barely audible in the back of the bus. In hindsight, I would have been better off going with another tour where they charge more upfront, but I would not waste so much time and money at the tourist traps.
Thank you for sharing such a detailed and honest review. It’s clear that while the pyramids themselves were awe-inspiring, the structure and pacing of the tour left a lot to be desired. Long, mandatory stops at overpriced shops and a disappointing lunch setup can really detract from the cultural richness of a day like this — especially when they consume more time than the actual historical sites.
