Andrea was our guide on the most beautiful tour day today. He had an issue with his van and that turned out to be the best unexpected turn of events as he instead drove us around in his convertible all day. We visited hilltop villages, had a wine tasting and Andrea made a change in our plan to accommodate our ship which was leaving pretty early and took us to a beautiful fishing village with the most amazing food for lunch. Don’t miss this tour.
Fantastic experience. The tour is very interesting and the guide is absolutely up to the task. Recommended.
We arranged a tour of the South of France, specifically the Provence region, and we were so happy to have Freddy as our guide. He was incredibly knowledgeable, personable, and truly gave us a genuine local experience that we never would have found on our own. Honestly, this was the best tour we’ve taken on our entire trip. Freddy made every stop feel special with his stories, recommendations, and deep understanding of the region, culture, and history. He struck the perfect balance between professionalism and making us feel like we were exploring Provence with a local friend. We would absolutely reach out to Freddy again the next time we are in town, and we truly cannot recommend him highly enough. If you’re considering a tour in the South of France, do yourself a favor and book with Freddy!
Great tour, very knowledgeable and flexible. We were traveling with three children so he adjusted easily and made our tour a wonderful experience.
Wine tour was fantastic thank you to Freddie very knowledgeable would definitely recommend this tour
We used PlanetAzur for two trips from Marseille - one to the Chateauneuf area and one to Chateau la Coste. Both trips were made EXCELLENT by the professionalism, friendliness, and accommodating flexibility of our driver, Freddy. He went above and beyond to give us advice, get us to our specific requests, and just overall make the journeys highly pleasurable. Being picked up at our hotel (which was not centrally located) instead of having to bus/taxi/uber to a meeting point for a tour was great. We recommend PLANETAZUR without any hesitation. They will take care of you.
We booked the “Provence at your Own Leisure” tour through Viator. Through emails, I said we wanted to visit Aix-en-Provence and Cassis. Freddie responded that we would do those in the morning & then we had other options for the rest of the day. When we were picked up, We talked a bit about the day but Freddie was not very clear about the plan. It seemed like he wasn’t too sure about what we should do. We talked about going to Cassis first and he offered us other choices such as hiking, going to a beach, or taking a boat to Calanques (coves). We weren’t interested in any of those, but we talked about a wine tasting. It seemed like we drove a bit in circles as Freddie & the driver were deciding what we should do first. We stopped to look at one cove and then headed to a winery for a tour & tasting. He wasn’t sure if we would be able to get in, but said we’ll just show up. Luckily they had room for us. It was a nice tour, but nothing special. Then we went to Cassis to have lunch. He showed us where the seaside cafes were but couldn’t recommend any of them. (Really? After bringing many tours to the town?) We found a place on our own. When we asked about going to Aix, it became clear that we didn’t have enough time left to make it worthwhile. He suggested we spend a bit more time in Cassis & then go to the top of a cliff. Given that we didn’t have time for anything else, that’s what we did. Then we headed back to the port. We had to be back on the ship by 5:00, and cut it very close, getting dropped off right at 5:00, which was stressful. While Freddie did give us history & information along the way, overall we did not feel like the tour was worth the money we paid and we were disappointed that we didn’t get to see Aix, which was important to us. Had Freddie communicated the options & timing better, it might have allowed us to do what we really wanted to do. We got the impression that he hasn’t done this type of tour before. I would not recommend it.
Hello Jodi i'm very sorry about your disappointment of not going to Aix at that time. We appreciate a lot all you're observations and recommendations. Timing has been better setted, prices are being adjusted and partnerships with the domains and restaurants have been established. We are continuously improving this and other of our tours, with great success and general good advises. Let me know when you're coming back and i will include you in our Aix en Provence and Cezanne wine tasting tour for free!! Once again thank you for booking with us and for your generous tips, we appreciate it. Kind regards
