Beyond our expectations! After seeing 15 whale sightings we stopped counting. The staff was very friendly and sent us professional photos from our trip at no extra charge.
Our whale watching tour was so special. I will start with the whales: we definitely saw them! We found a couple of humpbacks busy feeding and out guide did a great job of pointing them out and describing the behaviors we were seeing. It was truly amazing. The crew has the skills and experience to find what’s in the area. Additionally, they provided us with pictures of the whales and a journal entry about our voyage. We heard from someone else on the boat that if you go out and do not see any wildlife, they will provide you with a voucher to come out again another time (this family was on their re-do but your mileage may vary as I didn’t hear or read about this.) But of course, one cannot control the outcome, and still I would recommend this trip. It was such a fun way to see the city of Reykjavik and the surrounding mountains. We had a beautiful day with a bit of wind and they provided motion-sickness tablets for free, but remaining outside I did not experience much malaise. I also want to say that the company was very accommodating. We had booked a morning tour that we couldn’t get to due to travel disruptions and they were very willing to honor our reservation at a later time slot.
Somewhat disappointing. Whilst we did encounter Whales, these were only viewable from the passengers on the opposite side of the boat to us (starboard side) and the skipper made no attempt to balance the viewing. Anyone short of stature had no chance and that included kids onboard. The passengers on the starboard side made no attempt to let the kids see. On top of this, the tannoy was inadequate and you couldn't hear the host. It was a rather rough trip and Whilst I am a seasoned sailor, I found it very uncomfortable due to what felt like a beer barrel loose under the upper deck rear port side seat constantly ramming inside the seat. Non slip seats would also help in choppy conditions. The crew were friendly but I wouldn't book.again. Get that beer barrel fixed down owners.
Excellent tour and team. We saw three species! Highly recommend the tour. Will definitely come again.
As a solo traveler, I was having some cellular connectivity issues on the day of the tour and was struggling to find the correct bus pickup location. The dispatcher went above and beyond by staying on the phone with me and patiently guiding me to the right pickup spot. Their kindness, professionalism, and willingness to help immediately put me at ease and turned what could have been a stressful situation into a positive experience. Once I arrived, the excellent service continued throughout the tour. The driver was courteous, welcoming, and genuinely friendly. What impressed me most was the level of customer care. Traveling alone can sometimes be challenging, but the staff made me feel supported and valued from start to finish. The team was organized, accommodating, and committed to ensuring I had a great experience. The dispatcher's dedication to helping me reach the pickup point was truly exceptional, and the driver's warmth and amicable nature spoke volumes about the company's commitment to its guests. The whale-watching excursion itself was fantastic, with beautiful views, knowledgeable guides, and incredible opportunities to see whales in their natural habitat. This was one of the highlights of my trip to Iceland, and I would highly recommend this tour to anyone, especially solo travelers. Thank you to the dispatcher, driver, and crew for such a memorable experience. Five stars!
We were lucky to see so much , especially the 2 humpbacked whales. A perfect combination of lovely weather and so much sealife. Everyone left the boat smiling.
Our guide was very knowledgeable and took us to see amazing views of humpback whales including a baby! A couple minke whales entertained us as well. The best whale watching tour ever and we’ve been on several.
We were lucky enough to see a minke whale and two humpback whales on our tour. Since a sighting is not guaranteed, we were all the more delighted. The boat (or small ship) was quite full, but we still had a good view (at least on one side of the boat). The whale sightings were absolutely breathtaking. At times, the animals were very close to the boat. Don't forget warm clothing, sunglasses, and a hat. It gets quite cold due to the wind from the movement. My 11-year-old son and I even wore thin thermal underwear under our (thin) hiking pants. Everything on the boat is well narrated (in English). This way you know exactly where to look. After the tour, you have the option to request photos of the tour via email. So you don't have to stress about taking photos, but can simply enjoy the tour. We had binoculars with us, which was quite practical, but not a must.
Great experience with very nice guides. The weather was a little cold and that was a small problem. The whales cooperated as gave of a great excursion.
Sleeping whales. Hardly any.
