Tatsumi Daimyojin est un sanctuaire shinto à Kyoto, dédié à une divinité de la protection, de la bonne fortune et de la sécurité, en particulier pour les voyageurs et les guerriers. Last week my daughter and I had the most incredible experience in Kyoto with our guide Miho, wandering through the Gion district, learning about Kyoto's famous Geisha history, learning about the Maiko-sans and their complex and ardous apprenticeship. We then had the great privilege of meeting a Maiko-san and Miho did a fabulous job translating for us and the Maiko-san. We were able to engage in conversation and ask questions about her life, her motivations and what its like to live as an apprentice Geisha. It really was the most enlightening, interesting and educational experience for me and for my teenage daughter. Miho was an incredible guide, was so patient with all our questions and pointed out small details during our walk that we would have been oblivious to without her knowledge. The afternoon was a highlight of our trip to Japan!
