Kyoto Nighttime All-Inclusive Eats and Streets, Gion et au-delà

Description

The tour was very fun and we were so full from our food! We got to walk around and down pontocho alley. The food choices were in very traditional, small Japanese restaurants. We really enjoyed it!
Tommy was so great! Very knowledgeable, showed us some cool spots and had so much food!! It was the perfect way to start our trip in Kyoto. Highly recommend.
We are glad to know that Tommy was able to make your very first days in Kyoto so memorable and delicious. Introducing our guests to both local culinary highlights and unique neighborhoods with genuine insights is exactly what makes these initial walks so worthwhile, and it is fantastic to hear that you felt so well-fed and well-guided throughout the experience.😊
This was a wonderful evening in Gion with our guide Hugo. Hugo is a very knowledgable and worldly guy. He gave us lots of information and perspectives on history and culture in both Gion and Kyoto specifically, and Japan in general. Then there was the food, lots of it, many varieties, very authentic and very delicious! He explained to us what we were eating and how it related to Japanese culture. There was also plenty of drink to go along with the food. Don’t pass this one up.
We’re delighted to hear that your evening in Gion with Hugo was both enjoyable and informative. We’re glad the mix of history, culture, authentic local food, and conversation helped create such a memorable experience. On our food tours, we offer a variety of local specialties in smaller portions so guests can enjoy many different flavors throughout the evening, and most leave feeling very full and satisfied by the end.😋 Thank you very much for your recommendation.
You will love this tour and the food was fabulous!! Our meeting point was super simple to get to (we took a local train and when we exited the stun, we were there!). As we waited for other tourists, Terumi, our guide, shared the history of the theater we were standing in front of and the different actors on the stage announcements. As we got started, she explained the sightseeing position of the tour and that we’d follow up with two places to eat dinner. The history of the geisha is fantastic and our Terumi explained the difference between an apprentice and geisha. From the history of Goin and the shrines and temples, the tour was fabulous. The restaurants were places that locals go to and it was so cool to not be in mainstream locations. The food was fabulous and we finished the you’re very full! This was an excellent tour and we recommend it for anyone visiting Kyoto!
Thank you for sharing such detailed feedback. We’re delighted to hear that Terumi’s explanations about Gion, geisha culture, shrines, and local history helped bring the evening to life. It’s also wonderful to know you enjoyed visiting restaurants that locals frequent and experiencing a side of Kyoto beyond the usual tourist spots. We’re very happy the tour left you both satisfied and full, and we truly appreciate your warm recommendation.🙌
Great tour and it really does take you to restaurants you’re not going to stumble into without a local guide. Our guide was awesome and she answered other questions we had about Japan in general and different cultural questions we had. Really enjoyed it!
It’s great to hear that the tour helped you discover restaurants you might not have found on your own. One of the things we value most is introducing guests to local spots that can be difficult to access without a guide, and we’re glad that came through in your experience. We’re also pleased that your guide’s insights into Japanese culture made the time even more enjoyable.😊
Such a perfect evening in Gion with Jamie. The food was incredible—thoughtfully chosen, authentic, and absolutely delicious at every stop. But what really made it special was the atmosphere. It didn’t feel like a tour at all, more like a relaxed night out with a friend who knows all the best spots. Great conversation, great pacing, and such a warm, welcoming vibe. Highly recommend.
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We’re glad to hear that your evening in Gion felt relaxed and personal, and that the selection of authentic dishes at each stop added to the experience. Creating an atmosphere that feels comfortable and natural is something we value, and it’s wonderful to know Jamie’s approach helped bring that to life. Your recommendation is very much appreciated.🙌
Our tour guide was born and raised in Kyoto. He’s very knowledgable about the area. We visited a great hole in the wall we wouldn’t have otherwise found ourselves.
It’s great to hear that exploring Kyoto with a local guide offered a deeper perspective of the area. We’re glad you were able to discover a small, tucked-away spot that you might not have found on your own, and that the experience felt both authentic and informative.✨
The guide was very warm and knowledgeable! The tour started but little hike through the gion where we got some history behind the area and the temples nearby. The guide was good at finding routes for us to go quite undisturbed and and disturbed by other guided groups who were out at the same time.
Terumi was a great tour guide! She was very knowlegable and walked us through many iconic alley & streets in kyoto you wouodnt want to miss. The two restaurants we visited served delicious food and Terumi recommended us some really great dishes.
It’s great to hear that exploring Kyoto’s alleyways and streets with Terumi offered such an enjoyable perspective. We’re glad her knowledge and recommendations helped you discover dishes you might not have chosen on your own, and that the restaurant stops added to the experience.😊
Great experience and the tour guide was very knowledgeable. Ensure to challeng him and ask questions. It was very relaxed and a great time. Make sure to ask permission in certaint areas to ensure to keep yourself out of trouble as some private streets photography whit even phone are prohibited, always ask first. Be open to new experiences and food s the food was amazing.
We’re so glad you had a relaxed and enjoyable experience. It’s wonderful to hear the guide’s knowledge added depth to the tour, and we agree that asking questions makes it even more engaging. Thank you as well for highlighting the importance of being respectful in certain areas and following local etiquette. We’re delighted the food was a highlight and truly appreciate you sharing your thoughtful advice.😊
