Fantastic tour. Extremely personable and friendly tour guide. Very knowledgable and experienced. Lots of walking but that is expected. Overall 10/10. She also took many pictures of us.
Marie was our tour guide and she was absolutely wonderful. She was extremely engaging and had deep knowledge of the various temples, shrines, Buddhism in general, and the history and culture of Japan. This tour was definitely the highlight of my week long trip to Japan, which included Tokyo and Kyoto. We also had ample time to eat delicious food (including the best steak skewers I’ve ever had) and the opportunity to try refreshing new deserts like the green tea float. Also, wonderfully hand crafted souvenirs by Japanese artisans as well as other souvenir opportunities were in ample supply. We had an afternoon tour, which was detailed and lasted several hours. We truly felt that we got our money’s worth. In addition the afternoon timing was ideal, as most of the tour occurred after the hottest part of the day had passed. Thank you Marie. You made our visit to Japan (especially Kyoto), the trip of a lifetime.
Absolutely fantastic experience. Even though the heat was nearly unbearable for us, our guide Marie made changes to accommodate us and we were able to complete the tour and so glad we did! Unforgettable memories made and would highly recommended to everyone to book with Marie!
Marie was beyond amazing Very knowledgeable Patient, and very sweet We had a great time with her Definitely worth the tour I would recommend it
Words can’t explain the amazing experience we had with Marie during this tour! She was very informative, professional, thoughtful, funny and very sweet. We had an amazing time and we recommend this tour but it has to be done with her!!
Marie is a lovely and enthusiastic guide. She took us through the old streets of Kyoto, telling us in great detail about the history of the gheisas, the Shinto practices, lots of interesting cultural facts. We visited the main shrines as well as the great Pagoda and the 5000 tori-i gates. The tour started at 4pm which was an ideal time as there were less tourists around and Marie was very kind taking lots of photos of us. I highly recommend Marie.
Me has an exceptional talent to guide you around in Kyoto. She has amazing knowledge of this city and everything what is to be seen here. She can really bring a story to life and keep you interested the whole time! And above all, she also has a great sense of humor! If tou plan to go to Kyoto choose her as a guide. You will not regret it. Thank you Me for this fantastic tour!
She doesn’t know it but if someone told me if I have a friend in Kyoto, I might just answer that I do and her name is Marie! I booked a half day tour with Marie for me and my two kids on a rainy day in Kyoto! Marie showed up ready to go and made the day a fun and memorable experience for us. She knew all of the ins and outs of the places we went, gave us cool history and information. And she was amazing in pointing out great settings and views for photos that we will have forever. She was always ready to answer questions, accommodate and took so many wonderful family photos for us. At the end of the day she gave us recommendations of what else to check out while we were in town and the next day she even followed up with some additional helpful tips once she knew where we were going. She was a gem and made our time in Kyoto a lot more memorable!
What an absolute BLAST of a tour. Marie is such a well informed, vibrant guide. The inside scoop for where to take photos would be enough, but the insightful commentary was the real star of the show. My legs are pleasantly sore, and couldn't be happier!
Super friendly, very informative, great to have an insider point of view of the city of things we would not have other wise known if we explored on our own.
