Just kicking off by saying that our host was excellent - he was from the Philippines, but has been in Japan studying for several years. His english is excellent and he was very attentive. The tour was good, but could have been organized a bit better. We went to one restaurant, walked for 15 minutes, ate a breaded skewer on the side of the road, and then re-traced our steps for another 15 minutes to go to the next place, which was very close to the first place. The food was very tasty and it was good to hear from our host about the history of the food.
Plenty of food and variety of places visited.
Don't book this tour. Overcrowded and not as advertised. Was meant to be 8 people on the tour, ended up being 12. As a result, we could only go to 2 out of 3 restaurants promised. First place was great, second was disorganised and understaffed. Guide was too busy talking about how tired he was from his real job during the day and didn't even know what some of the food was. Didn't go to Gion district even though it was
This was fun. Misa was great. She took us to several different restaurants and cuisine did vary which was awesome. This tour does not skimp on the food we had full meals so you will not leave hungry and definitely will have plenty to taste. We did the night tour as we wanted to enjoy the lights of Kyoto. It was also raining so that gave everything and extra pop.
Fantastic selection of food from Yakitori to Sushi , our tour guide Misaki was a fabulous host and we enjoyed our very intimate tour with her. Totally recommend this tour
Fantastic food and Misaki was a absolutely wonderful host and totally enjoyed her company on our very private tour
The positives: The first and best part of the tour was our guide Ayaka! Not only was she an excellent guide she was very attentive to my allergies, which were a challenging since one of my allergies is sesame, which is used in many of Japanese cooking dishes. Ayaka supplied many interesting facts about Japan itself and of the food we were trying. She made the experience worth it. The negative: we had a larger group, over 10 people and not nearly enough food was supplied. For the price charged the food was not acceptable. We all left hungry. I know this was not a dinner, but there was not enough food for us to even try everything. This tour is overpriced for what was supplied! This is not the guide’s fault but the company’s fault since I’m sure they supply the guides with their budget.
Delicious food, very pleasant tour, recommend it, very attentive and formal Ryu.
Rich food and good experience with RYU
Fabulous time with Misa, our knowledgeable and thoughtful guide. Food was delicious and well selected for our party of 6 including 4 young adults. Come hungry and ready for a delightful evening!
