I had an absolutely amazing experience at this chopstick workshop, it was easily the best arts and crafts experience I’ve ever had. From the moment I arrived, the staff made me feel welcome. Everyone was incredibly friendly, patient, and genuinely enthusiastic about helping. They explained each step clearly, encouraged creativity without being overbearing, and were always happy to answer questions or offer guidance whenever I needed it. Even if you’ve never done anything like this before, they make the whole process feel approachable and enjoyable. Yuika was extremely patient and helpful throughout the process. The workshop itself was so much fun. Watching a simple piece of wood gradually turn into a beautiful, personalized pair of chopsticks was incredibly satisfying. The process was hands-on from start to finish, and it struck the perfect balance between being relaxing and engaging. It never felt rushed, and I left with something I was genuinely proud to have made. I’ve been to several arts and crafts workshops around Kyoto, but this was by far the best overall experience. The combination of the welcoming atmosphere, exceptional staff, high-quality instruction, and the enjoyment of the activity itself really sets this place apart. It also offers fantastic value for money, you get a memorable experience, learn something new, and leave with a unique souvenir that you’ll actually use. I can’t recommend this workshop highly enough. Whether you’re visiting Kyoto as a tourist or you’re a local looking for something different to do, this is an experience you shouldn’t miss. I’ll definitely be recommending it to friends and family, and I’d happily come back again.

My wife and I had an amazing time at the Making Plates with Cody workshop in Kyoto! Cody was incredibly friendly, patient, and knowledgeable, making the entire experience fun and relaxing, even for complete beginners. The workshop was very hands-on, and Cody explained each step clearly while encouraging everyone to add their own creative touch. It was fascinating to learn about Japanese pottery techniques and create something truly unique to take home. The atmosphere was welcoming, the studio was beautiful and well-organized, and the experience felt authentic and personal. This was one of the highlights of our trip to Kyoto, and every time we use our handmade plates we’ll remember this special experience. If you’re visiting Kyoto and looking for a memorable cultural activity, I highly recommend taking a pottery workshop with Cody. It was an unforgettable experience and well worth it!
