Kinderdijk Bike Tour

This was a wonderful way to see the windmills. I was lucky to get Marco as my guide. And I was the only one in his group for the day. He was very sincere in making sure that this experience was tailored to what I wanted. I chose to use an ebike for this tour. I'm a 60ish y/o woman in fairly good shape but having the ebike made for a perfect experience. The route is fairly flat but you will be on the bike for several hours. We stopped to view a windmill and learned so much about the history of windmills and the surrounding area (be prepared to climb steep ladders and be comfortable in a tight space)! Also stopped and had a quick bite to eat then back on the bike to see more windmills. Marco stopped a few times to make sure we took good pictures (he's a very good photographer so knows how to make each picture look special). Overall this was one of the highlights of my two week vacation to Europe. It helped that it was a beautiful sunny fall day!

Fantastic tour of areas you rarely get to see. Helped to work a windmill and climb inside to the top, cycled through meadows with cows and canals, tasted local Gouda. Couldn’t have had a better tour of local Kinderdyjk countryside.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A Wonderful Day in Kinderdijk Our bike tour of Kinderdijk with Arjan was such a beautiful way to end our visit to the Netherlands. It was the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of the city and gave us the opportunity to experience the stunning Dutch countryside in such a unique way. The scenery was spectacular — cycling alongside the canals, taking in the beautiful countryside and, of course, the iconic windmills. We were incredibly lucky to have such a personal tour of one of the windmills, which made the experience even more special. We also really enjoyed our visit to the cheese factory, and Arjan’s wealth of knowledge throughout the day added so much to the experience. He was friendly, informative and clearly passionate about the area and its history. It was a thoroughly enjoyable day from start to finish and a wonderful way to see a different side of the Netherlands. We would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting the area — an unforgettable experience! 🚲🇳🇱💚

The bike tour was a great experience. Arjan our guide was terrific. He was knowledgeable, personable, and a fun guide. It included a private tour of a windmill by the owner of the windmill. It was definitely the highlight of our trip to Amsterdam.

Our guide, Marco could not have been nicer. He accommodated our every need. The guided tour of a working Windmill by the family owner and his friend was extraordinary!.. we climbed ladders inside to the top with the owner as he described and demonstrated his grinding mill. This was by far a highlight. Marco took us on an e-bike thru the countryside with multiple stops and lunch. We would highly recommend this tour

Great way to learn about the history and culture from a local. Our guide Arjan truley loved his land and was so informative and personal . The beauty of the land was easy to enjoy with the bike. The windmill experience was amazing, to be able to see and understand how they work by climbing inside was awesome

The tour was amazing from start to finish. It gave Christy and me a look at the real Netherlands from a wonderful vantage point. Marco went out of his way to make sure that the experience was unique and personalized. He made sure we saw and experienced everything we wanted from a personal tour of a windmill where the ‘Millers’ took us inside and behind the scenes… to wandering the beautiful countryside on bikes with cinematic views of lighthouses. Speaking of which, Marco is a great photographer and helped us document our fun with great photos. Even lunch was special. Marco leaves no detail unfinished. We stopped at a little place in the middle of the areas agricultural landscape. Unique, fun and worth your time. And you have to ask for Marco to be your guide. He insured it wasn’t just a bike tour - rather an experience you’ll never forget.

WOW - the tour of the windmills in Kinderdijk was incredible. Our guide, Marco, gave us a truly memorable experience taking us through the windmills and experiencing a glimpse of life with the locals. Seeing the beauty, history, and engineering ingenuity made for an unforgettable day that we will long cherish!

If I could give the Kinderdijk Bike Tour with Marco six stars, I would! It is well worth it. Marco is an amazing guide and a true Kinderdijk local who got to know me and my friend on the waterbus ride from Rotterdam to Kinderdijk. He then added to the tour and tailored the experience to us. After picking up our e-bikes in Kinderdijk, Marco took us to a village bakery for a delicious pastry and coffee. We then set off for a visit to a working windmill (milling flour) in a nearby village. We spent an hour with one of the volunteer caretakers who had us climbing inside the windmill, showing us the gears and answering all our questions about the engineering. We then went outside for a demonstration - with our assistance - how to set the sails and turn the cap. Following that remarkable experience, we biked around the nearby farmland and villages - roughly 10 miles. Throughout our journey, Marco took photos and shared them with us. He is by far one of the best tour guides I have used over the years. I highly recommend this experience with Marco.

Mills all the same, gray, pleasant boat ride, well-made watervore museums much less beautiful than those at zansee scans near Zadam.
