À l'intérieur, l'agriculteur fait une démonstration de sculpture de sabots et de fabrication de fromages qui ressemble moins à une présentation qu'à un plateau de stand-up humoristique. Tu vas rire, tu vas apprendre, tu vas goûter du vrai fromage Néerlandais directement à la source. C'est l'expérience authentique de la campagne que la plupart des circuits promettent mais livrent rarement.
Environ deux heures à Volendam, le village de pêcheurs coloré sur l'IJsselmeer. Nous commençons par une promenade guidée à travers l'un des charmants quartiers juste à côté du port principal, où je partage les histoires derrière les maisons en bois, le patrimoine de la pêche et la vie quotidienne de cette communauté soudée. Nous nous arrêtons également à l'un des magasins de souvenirs authentiques les moins chers des Pays-Bas, un joyau caché que la plupart des groupes touristiques ne trouvent jamais. Les voyageurs ont ensuite environ une heure de temps libre pour déjeuner dans l'un de mes spots locaux recommandés, prendre des photos près du port, ou essayer les costumes traditionnels Volendam pour un souvenir amusant.
Nous terminons la journée à Zaanse Schans, et le timing est intentionnel. La plupart des bus d'excursion arrivent le matin et quittent le village bondé et bruyant. On fait le contraire. Les voyageurs arrivent en fin d'après-midi, quand la foule s'est éclaircie et que la lumière devient dorée sur le fleuve. Pendant environ une heure, nous longeons ensemble la rangée de moulins à vent historiques, dont plusieurs fonctionnent encore aujourd'hui, tandis que je partage les histoires derrière ce morceau vivant du patrimoine Néerlandais. Paisible, pittoresque, et le chapitre de clôture parfait pour la journée.

I would 100% recommend this small group tour of Keukenhof, Volendam, and Zaanse Schans! Tour operator Adonis is the consummate guide, cheerful, knowledgable, and entertaining. He thoughtfully timed our visits to sites for when they were less crowded and made our diverse group feel like we were old friends. On the drive back to the city we were all clapping to Greek music. It honestly was the best tour I’ve ever taken!

While it is a popular stop, the current experience feels a bit modest, commercial, and somewhat detached from authentic local culture. Trimming down the time spent there would allow guests to spend more time enjoying the beautiful scenery and cultural heritage that make this tour so special. When you come to Amsterdam, you HAVE to call Antonis at EcoEcho tours and book this trip with him as your guide. We’ve traveled a lot and done a lot of tours but this was by far the greatest experience we’ve ever had. We hit Kuekenhof Gardens at the exact correct time with amazing weather plus Antonis showed us some unique, off the beaten path, parts of Amsterdam that were amazing and special. Antonia added so much color and interesting facts with his insights and history of Amsterdam. And, the icing on the cake was the perfect weather and the absolute best group of people we have ever toured with! We woke up this morning wishing we could do it all over again.
