Un hommage à Oscar Wilde. Nous allons commencer par un hommage à notre fils irlandais le plus célèbre et, en son temps, controversé - Oscar Wilde.
Ensuite, nous irons à la National Gallery pour en apprendre davantage sur l'histoire irlandaise à travers des œuvres d'art fascinantes: le mariage de Strongbow et Aoife qui a marqué la fin de l'ancien ordre gaélique en Irlande; de beaux vitraux et une peinture extrêmement symbolique sur la guerre civile irlandaise.
Ensuite, nous irons sans doute au meilleur musée de Dublin - le Musée national d'archéologie et d'histoire. Nous visiterons le Trésor qui abrite les plus grands trésors que l’Irlande a produits, notamment la broche Tara et le calice Ardagh.

Shopping local à George’s St. Arcade. Maintenant, nous allons faire une pause en tant que touriste et commencer à être un local. Ici, nous allons rendre visite à un bijoutier irlandais local - le voir travailler sur une pièce (peut-être essayer vous-même!) Having Austin Rock as our Dublin Tour Guide was about the best thing that we could do in terms of touring Dublin. He has almost infinite history knowledge of the area and continually sprinkles good humor in with his factual information. We enjoyed Austin so much that I told my wife we should have invited him to dinner with us during our conversation later that night eating dinner. Together with my group of 12 we had a fantastic day with John Caffrey! John is such a nice person and fun to be with, and his knowledge of everything related to Dublin and Ireland was just outstanding. John Caffrey was an excellent guide. He was extremely knowledgeable and entertaining. We learned a great deal and had a lot of fun. He planned a thoughtful route for us covering a wide variety of sites. I can’t believe how much we covered. He had interesting facts and stories about all of the places we passed. When it started raining, he quickly figured out a useful way to get us inside and adapt the tour. John took great care of us.

Our tour guide John was fantastic. From start to finish we learned so much about Dublin and Ireland. John is very personable and relayed much information as we completed the planned itinerary, and he also had thorough answers to all of our questions, no matter how random. He made sure to include our two college-age sons and each of us individually as we walked and talked about various aspects of the city in an objective way, its history and its place in the wider world. We learned to pour a Guinness which was also a fun, special stop. We highly recommend John—the visual experience, along with being able to mine John’s breadth and depth of knowledge was worth every penny.

We booked this tour and it was well worth the money! Austin was an excellent guide and was a wealth of information on the sites and history of Dublin. His stories were both educational and amusing. We had sent him some ideas of what sites we wanted to see and he put together a tour specifically for us! We walked roughly 8km in total, but it was at a nice pace and over about 8 hours! Well worth the time and money! We highly recommend this tour!

My husband and I came to Ireland to celebrate our 9 year wedding anniversary and kicked it off with this tour. Our guide, John Caffrey, was incredible! He had a deep well of knowledge regarding history and culture and his delivery felt like story-telling that was often punctuated with a lovely relatable anecdote. He was very friendly and easy to chat with. He encouraged questions and always had an answer for them. It’s also worth noting that he was punctual for our start time, and never made us feel rushed to get to the next thing. He always offered to take pictures of us at the different stops, and didn’t mind if we wanted to linger at one thing or another. We learned so much about Ireland and would definitely encourage others to book this tour, but we especially want to recommend John! He was incredible. Just lovely! He made our first day in Ireland a very memorable one!
