Tout d'abord, visitez Dachau, le premier camp de concentration nazi en Allemagne. Alun is well informed, articulate and well organized. Equally important is his message that is spot on…the objective is to not to only see buildings where terror and horror took place…the objective is to recognize that a totalitarian government emerged from a democracy, and that ordinary people became evil…the message is to understand and accept how vulnerable our governments can be, and how malleable human beings can be, and to never be silent again.

Alun did an outstanding job of not only describng the Dachau camp environment, but explaining how these concentration camps were allowed to happen. I hadn't fully understood the political environment in Germany at the time. He painted a full picture of the many concentration camps and how they were able to exist and even flourish without pushback from the populace.

This is an informative and thought provoking tour, exploring the Dachau memorial in the concentration camp in the morning and important sites in the formation of the Nazi party in the mid to late afternoon. Alun combined vast knowledge, guided transit, and free time to explore, contemplate and take a break. The walking pace can be brisk to make the way through transit stops but Alun keeps the groups small enough and directions are clear so it works.
