Ce monument est représenté sous la forme de deux personnages, un jeune homme et une jeune femme qui souhaitent la bienvenue. La jeune femme tient dans ses mains une composition florale destinée à lui souhaiter la bienvenue. Situé dans le centre de Jakarta, c'est l'un des monuments les plus célèbres et les plus reconnus de la ville de Jakarta.
La place Merdeka est un point central de la ville de Jakarta qui compte de nombreux bâtiments gouvernementaux tels que le bureau du ministère, le bureau présidentiel et même le point de repère de Jakarta (monument national) situé au milieu de la place Merdeka.
Visitez le monument national qui se trouve au milieu de la place Merdeka, un monument de 132 mètres de haut avec une flamme de feuille d'or au sommet, symbolisant l'indépendance de la nation. C'est l'un des points forts de la ville de Jakarta. Le sous-sol du monument abrite une exposition de 48 dioramas illustrant l'histoire de l'Indonésie de la préhistoire à nos jours. (Tous les lundis, le Monument National est fermé. Vous ne pouvez visiter que la zone extérieure du monument).
Située à Jalan Lapangan Banteng Utara, la cathédrale construite dans le style gothique date de 1891. Elle possède une haute tour avec de hautes fenêtres décorées de peintures sur verre. À l'intérieur de l'église se trouvent 3 autels qui forment ensemble un demi-cercle. Il a également un bel autel ancien qui reflète le son comme une coquille de conque.
La mosquée Istiqlal à Jakarta, en Indonésie, est la plus grande mosquée d'Asie du Sud-Est et la sixième plus grande mosquée du monde en termes de capacité de fidèles. Istiqlal, qui signifie « Indépendance » en arabe. Située au centre-ville, presque en face de la cathédrale nationale, la mosquée se veut également un symbole de paix et de tolérance religieuse. Remarque : la mosquée Istiqlal est fermée tous les vendredis.

La vieille ville de Batavia était autrefois le centre de la domination néerlandaise lors de la colonisation de l'Indonésie. Dans cette région se trouvaient d'anciens bureaux du gouverneur, des banques, des hôpitaux, des bureaux de poste et des palais de justice, qui sont maintenant convertis en musées. La vieille ville de Batavia vous fera sentir comme si vous étiez à Amsterdam car le bâtiment entier dans ce quartier est de style hollandais.
Le vieux port de Jakarta situé dans la tête de Batavia. En route, l'ancien pont-levis du 17ème siècle. Ce port est le premier utilisé par les Portugais et les Néerlandais à leur arrivée en Indonésie.

The guide Fajar was excellent, very knowledgeable on the history of Indonesia, also Indah a new tour guide who provided a lot of good information too. This was a private tour and the driver Bobo was always waiting to pick us up when finished at a site. Each site we stopped at was great and historical, highly recommend this tour.

This half day visit to the highlights in Jakarta was very well organised. The tour agency and the assigned guide were very responsive. The visit started punctually. Catherine is very knowledgeable on the history of Indonesia, and on the specifics related to the sites we visited. We got to see the Istiqal Mosque, the Catholic Cathedral, the National Monument and museum, parta of the old town including a traditional puppet making workshop and the harbor. She is a good communicator and explains things very eloquently. She has a great sense of humour.

My son and I really enjoyed the tour. Pinkan was a great guide, knowledgeable and articulate. She answered all pur questions well and was such a pleasing and patient lady. She wss happily offering to take our pictures as well. We had the car all to ourselves. Our travel also effciently navigated through the streets of Jakarta and we never really to wait long for him.

During business trip from the U.S., first time in Indonesia, I went on a half-day Jakarta tour with the highly knowledgeable guide Thomas. It was a highly enjoyable and informative tour, we covered all major sites including independence square, national museum, main cathedral, world’s 3rd largest mosque, old town and port, even the shadow puppet theater and a historic Batavia Cafe. I learned a tremendous amount from Thomas, the narrative was fun, a new air conditioned car was skillfully driven by driver Andy, and I had time and help buying souvenirs and trying local coffee and amazing pastries (yuzu meringue is my favorite). Thomas took excellent pictures of me that I sent to my kids. This was a memorable experience that made me feel like a local, and got me to appreciate Jakarta and its warm, welcoming people. I highly recommend this tour to travelers interested in experiencing Jakarta’s hidden gems and spending enjoyable four hours without strenuous walking or riding public transport in the heat.

Rizky was extremely knowledgeable in sharing Indonesia history and the highlights in Jakarta. Given the busy traffic and heat, it was delightful to have an air-conditioned vehicle and private driver to go to the various sites. Thoroughly enjoyed the tour!
