Randonnée dans les gorges d'Imbros au départ de La Canée
Description
La gorge d'Imbros est la deuxième gorge la plus populaire de Crète. C'est une expérience de randonnée facile et le circuit idéal pour profiter de la nature. La gorge pittoresque a de nombreuses parties telles que "Stenada" et "Mesofarango" qui sont d'une beauté unique et les formations rocheuses sont incroyables . La balade dure majoritairement 3 heures durant lesquelles vous apprécierez la faune et la flore de ce lieu. Son point le plus étroit ne mesure que 1,60 m, où il est facile de toucher les deux côtés des murs qui culminent à 300 m. La randonnée se termine presque à la mer libyenne où vous profiterez également de temps libre pour vous baigner dans les eaux cristallines ou déjeuner dans tavernes typiques.

En entrant dans le bus et en commençant notre visite, nous aurons besoin d'environ 2 heures jusqu'à l'entrée de la gorge d'Imbros. Là, vous aurez un arrêt facultatif pour le petit-déjeuner pendant une demi-heure pour déguster des collations crétoises traditionnelles. Vers 11h00, vous entrerez dans la gorge avec notre guide et commencerez la randonnée. La belle gorge d'Imbros fait environ 8 km de long et il vous faudra environ 3 heures à un rythme facile pour terminer votre randonnée. Au bout de la gorge, vous atteindrez le village de Komitades où vous aurez également 45 minutes pour déjeuner rapidement. Nous continuerons ensuite avec 15 minutes de route jusqu'au village de Chora Sfakion pour un moment de détente pour nager ou prendre un café/déjeuner. Le temps il y aura 1 heure de temps libre. Enfin, nous retournerons à La Canée pour 2 heures de route.

This is not an easy hike. Yes it is relatively short. Roughly two and a half hours. Beware of information stating it's for families/ children. Out of about twenty people on our bus two of them can back with cuts and scrapes caused by falls. Thomas the guide emphasized this but the booking information could be deceptive. Just my humble opinion.
Had a great day out with our guide Thomas and 22 others. Thomas was informative and considerate. Enjoyed walking the gorge and swimming in the afternoon.
Great trip with plenty of time to both get through the Imbros Canyon and to enjoy the most beautiful beach afterwards in Chora Sfakion. Can be highly recommended. Easy to book and it is controlled by the tour company with an experienced tour guide, who makes sure everyone get out of the canyon and so on.
It’s a spectacular hike, but not exactly easy. The 8km distance isn’t the issue, It’s hard work negotiating the rocks and boulders. And almost all the trail is round pebbles of all sizes which roll under your feet. You really have to concentrate where you are putting your feet and where your next step should be. The wild flowers are very pretty.
The meeting point is easy to find, bus on time, simple hike, pretty scenery, then visit a small village with possible restoration, very pretty cove.
A nice bus trip from Gerani with a nice bus driver and a good guide who gave good information about the walk and a little about Crete's history on the way up to Imbros George where the walk started. A light fine, but rocky path that requires good shoes. The walk down took about 3 hours in beautiful nature down to Taverna Komitades where the bus waited and took us on to Sfakian, a beautiful small coastal town where we bathed and ate lunch. A great trip that is definitely recommended to spend a day on.
Great trip through the Imbros canyon and with an experienced guide. The subsequent stay at the south coast reduces the overall rating.
Beautiful walk and excellently organized. I do believe that the walk is not suitable for everyone. The path consists mainly of large and smaller loose stones, many (smooth) rocks and unevenness. In any case, good, sturdy shoes are absolutely recommended. A lot of standing still to take pictures. Taking pictures while you are not looking where you are walking is dangerous. As reasonably experienced hikers, it took us about 2 hours and 25 minutes. Nevertheless, a wonderful experience in a breathtaking setting.
Great trip. Our tour guide Athina was helpful and enthusiastic. We'll organised with good timing. Good communication from the company. We were able to leave our beach gear on the bus while we hiked the gorge.
A little more challenging than described, but very nice trip. With a skilled driver and super good guide. Can definitely be recommended.
