The tour was cancelled the evening before. Unfortunately the tour guide was unwell. An alternative tour was offered but not to the destination we wanted to see.
If you are a Van Gogh aficionado or simply want to explore lovely Provencal cities/villages, this tour is for you! Alexander was an excellent tour guide & driver - he was both personable & knowledgeable. It was a long day but in a very comfortable, air conditioned van for 8 of us. We were able to see so much - Arles, Avignon, Saint Remy & Les Baux de Provence! Highly recommend this tour - especially if Alexander is your tour guide.
Lots of discussion about Van Gogh.. Where and how he painted... Van Gogh's life. Arles, St Remy, Avignon. Busy day
Nicholas is a terrific guide — deeply knowledgeable about the Provence region, its history and its influence on the Impressionists, from Van Gogh and Gauguin to Cezanne who was born and lived in Aix. The towns visited were gorgeous - blending Roman, medieval and Gothic architecture in Arles, Les Baux and Avignon. Finally realized thanks to this tour that Chateau Neuf de Pape is named for the Pope’s New Palace (1350-1420) in Avignon!! Highly recommend this guide And this tour!
We had a great time with our very knowledgeable guide, Paul. We learned so much about the towns we visited. On top of it, Paul is very cool and helpful. He had the patience of an angel with us stopping for photos or buying a souvenir. I highly recommend this tour which gives a nice flavor of Provence!!
A Splendid trip with a wonderful operator and guide, super organized, professional and unmatched human warmth. Eugenie must be more wonderful, with a lot of knowledge and an extraordinary being
Loved being part of a small group with a very knowledgeable tour guide. A nice way to see other towns in Provence, especially as it pertains to Vincent Van Gogh. Loved seeing Arles and all its history. It’s well worth spending a full day. Highly recommend.
I saw this trip as I was booking a holiday to Aix-en-Provence and felt this would be a wonderful way seeing some of this an and countryside of Southern France. We did this tour on Easter Monday with Jenny and it lived up to the hype. As it turned out, it became a private tour since my group was the only one on the trip. The visit to Arles, Avignon, Les Baux-en-Provence and the monastery provided rich insight into Van Gogh’s trip through France and his inspiration for Starey Night. Jenny did an excellent job as our tour guide, pointing out key sights with great stories along the way. She went above and beyond for the tour.
A full day tour learning about Van Gogh and visiting places where he painted and where he was incarcerated for mental issues. A very good overview of part of his life brought to life by our guide Marlin. We were dropped off in Avignon to see the popes palace and the famous unfinished bridge. Thoroughly enjoyed the day and would recommend this tour to friends.
I wish we could arena from inside We were told that we didn’t have time and besides it was not original just renovated to be suitable for the contemporary events
