Everyone in our large party really had an incredible time on this tour. It was neat to see all the Outlander sites. George knows all about the show and relates the show to what you are seeing. George was a very good guide and did a great job for us! If you like Outlander, you should book this tour!
Thank you Sandy It was a first for me doing so many clients on 1 tour I thought it all went very well as you have just confirmed I am so pleased that all your 14 were very happy and i also got a lovely review from Stephanie then other 4 with us that day Thanks again and enjoy the rest of your cruise
What an amazing day! George really made this experience even better! We loved his narration and his sense of humor. He had a lot of knowledge, both of the Scottish history as well as the Outlander show. He went out of his way to accommodate our large party and he definitely did not disappoint! What a great tour and a great day we had! Book this today and you won't be disappointed.
Thanks again Sandy for your lovely words
George was wondering. He’s so passionate about history in Scotland. There were 18 in the group. Everything went perfectly and we were back at the port by 4p. Highly recommend
Thank you so much Stephanie , I am just so pleased you were all happy and had a great day , It was a first for me I have never had as many as 18 People before ,, And siting on the bus on the microphone was also a first . I felt all went really well , so its great to hear this from you ,,,,,THANK YOU
George was the Perfect Guide for us. Pleasant and thorough. We didn’t feel rushed, we weren’t pushed to buy anything anywhere, or go anywhere we didn’t want to go. The tour is perfectly timed to enjoy a full day and make it back to the cruise ship with time to change before dinner. I will definitely recommend him!
Thank you very much Noelia Safe Travels So pleased you had a great day George@scotlandmail.com
Our tour guide George was very curt we were so disappointed with this tour we paid a lot for it He drove around did not stop at the Nessie location discouraged us from going down to Urquhart Castle and told us to take pictures from tne fence as we didn’t have time we felt he showed us things were not of interest like local butcher’s show that no longer existed he also got very angry when asked abt getting back to ship on time and said “Jesus crist you people are getting up my back if I say I’m getting back to the ship I’m getting back to the ship, “ we felt very uncomfortable asking anything he showed his anger in one or more times we have 4 tours and more this trip and many others always a fun experience there was NO fun actually the experience was bad, total disappointment we couldn’t wait to leave him we are sure he took his time to get back right at the last min he also had a bad odour . We feel he didn’t frame us to places listed This was expensive tour l would like to hear back from you I have not ever complained we are not picky this is a once on a lifetime trip and we all were so disappointed would recommend but with a different your guide.
I am very disappointed you feel like this . You asked for a Outlander Tour > i covered all the Outlander stops and more .. You say you got back at the last minute <,, which is not true 5 pm was the cut off point for getting back to the ship ,, and i got you back at 4,30pm as you requested If you wanted to go into the castle why didnt you say so , i only advised you to save your money for Culloden Battle field , which i thought was better value for your money I have never had a complaint about my personal being before !!! It was also obvious to me that some of you were not interested in the Outlander stops , So why pick a tour that does not suit the 6 of you I have over240 5 star reviews for my 4 tours Think that speaks for its self
This experience will teach you the history of Scotland while providing a fun experience. George did an amazing job explaining the significance of each site and really helped us to understand the history and appreciate the sacrifices people have made in search of freedom . He was funny and answered all of our questions, and did not laugh at our dumb questions. At no point did we feel rushed which allowed us to take each experience in fully. He made sure we were comfortable at all times and he is a great storyteller. By the end of the tour we felt like we were part of his family as he took great care to make sure we had a great time. I would recommend this tour to everyone, you will not regret it. I would definitely book other tours with him when I return. Be prepared to walk and dress appropriately as you are outdoors for extended periods of time.
Hi Maria Thank you so much for your very nice review I am so pleased you had a great Experience with George Murray Safe Travels Clan Tours
George was very kind, started perfectly on time, and overall the tour was great! It was based on Outlander and historic Scottish sites, and since it was just my husband and me, it felt like a private and personalized experience. We started with the beautiful Hairy Coos at Robertson Farm, then visited Beauly Priory and Wardlaw Mausoleum in Kirkhill, where George explained everything in detail — both historical facts and Outlander references. Along the way, he made short stops to show us interesting historical spots. The itinerary mentioned 1.5 hours at Urquhart Castle and 30 minutes at Great Glen Distillery. I thought we would visit Urquhart Castle inside, but we only stopped for about 5–6 minutes on the roadside to take photos. As for Great Glen Distillery, we were not informed that we wouldn’t be visiting it. Around 11:50 a.m., George kindly took us to the Victorian Market in Inverness for lunch, where we had about one hour to eat and explore local spots he recommended. In the afternoon, we visited Culloden House, Clava Cairns, and Culloden Moor. The entry fee at Culloden was £12.50 per person, but they charged us £33 as a family — I’m not sure why. The battlefield tour lasts about one hour, so dress warmly, as it’s very windy out there! We arrived back in Inverness around 4:20 p.m. George was kind, patient, and very knowledgeable — I truly appreciated his explanations about both Scottish history and Outlander filming sites.
Hi Gabi I am glad you enjoyed your day , I thought i had explained that i gave you the choice of Urquhart or lunch in inverness , I personally think the castle is not worth the entry fee ,, And you get more value for your money at the Battlefield where i can only assume you were charged extra for the walk over the grounds with a guide from the NTS I am a little Disappointed that you never mentioned these things on the day , Where i could have done something about your concerns
Great day in scotland! George was so good and told us alot about Scottish history. It was just my wife and I on the tour so it was great getting to talk to each other throughout the day. I would recommend this tour to anyone making a trip to Inverness.
Hi Charlie Thank you so much for your kind words It was a pleasure to show you guys a little bit of Bonnie Scotland ,,, And yes its nice when only 2 people Much more of a Personal touch Safe Travels
George, our tour guide gave a wonderful day. Not only did we see the sites referenced in the show (Outlander), we learned the true significance of these locations. We also made stops at clan graveyards for both Mackenzie and Fraser and George explained much of these family's histories and how they relate to the show. We also got to see beautiful countryside and visited a farm for close-up photos with a couple of highland cows, but no, Nessie didn't make herself seen when we stopped at Loch Ness.
Hi Guys , Thank you so much for your very kind words , I am so glad you enjoyed your day in The Highlands Sorry no Nessie Maybe next time
We loved this experience. George was great. He took us to so many places and was very informative and just all around a great guy. Would recommend him anytime. Hoping to return to this area sometime and will definitely look him up.
Thank you Gayle Murray So happy you all had a Fab day Look forward to you coming back to this part of Bonnie Scotland
