Very nice tour where you learn more about Korean folklore, myths and sjamanism. Nice walk up the mountain, which is doable with a moderate fitness. The guide takes enough stops walking uphill to tell things, and is very helpful and considerate. Being up the hill and the temple in the evening is also magical. Visiting the sjamanreading was an interesting cultural experience to see how a korean sjaman is doing its practice. Good to keep a sharp mind on what the potential value / growth is in the reading.
Ethan is very knowledgeable about shamanism. Although he is not a shaman, he is a disciple of one and brings that wisdom and knowledge along. He explained the shamanism ecosystem, traditions, and ceremonies. He guided us in offering prayers at the mountain sacred spots. During the session with the shaman, Ethan translated and explained. This is one of the best tours I had, and it greatly exceeded my expectations. A must do to understand deeper Korean culture
Amazing experience and I always love the spiritual aspects of the countries I visit. This was a very cool experience. Definitely one of the highlights of this trip to Seoul. A powerful mountain with a ton of energy. Ethan is a great guide and runs a great tour. Shaman experience add on is definitely worth it as well.
This was a wonderful, unique experience - where you were able to learn about shamanism and were given a mystical (and historical) tour of the mountain. Our guide Ethan, was very thoughtful, knowledgeable and open to all sorts of questions. We were able to have lots of breaks for talks, bathroom breaks etc so we didn’t feel rushed. The view at the top of the mountain was beautiful and you were able to see the whole of Seoul whilst being in nature - can definitely recommend, even if you’re not a spiritual person - go with an open mind and you’ll have a great time!
This was a fantastic experience for someone not familiar with Korean folklore and beliefs. Ethan was very knowledgeable and gave great insight into how the mountains and myths have shaped the history of Seoul. Strongly recommend.
I have been to Korea multiple times but this tour really changed my perspective on Korea. I got to see a different side of Korea, one bounded by myths and history. This off the beaten track tour hosted by Ethan was marvelous and spectacular both in terms of the tour itself and the scenery. Ethan was knowledgable in this field and answered all our questions earnestly. He was patient and gave us frequent breaks during the tour. Strongly recommended for everyone to come see for yourself a different side to Korea. Thanks once again Ethan for the stories and memories made during this trip!
this experience was so unique and special. we learned so much about korean folklore and history. we got to pray to an ancient rock and make a wish! the shaman was great and super spot on, my recommendation is to come with an open heart, specific questions and bug spray :)
It was really meaningful tour and reading with the shaman. I went in a skeptic, and it opened up my mind in ways I didn’t expect. I would highly recommend this. Really great experience, Ethan was a knowledgeable guide. Aa you head into the mountain area there is a lot of stairs but Ethan breaks each part down with a stop to share his knowledgeable. The views are amazing. I did the sharman reading and he was fantastic. Anyone who is interested in Sharman and the history of Korean this is a trip to do. I would do this trip again and recommend to anyone thinking a out it.
