Cours de cuisine grecque d'une demi-journée de la culture de Zakynthian avec déjeuner

Super fun cooking workshop given by Alex and his mother Mandy who came to Zakynthos as an Englishman in the 80s, fell in love with a Greek and has lived on Zakynthos ever since. The cooking workshop is held in the garden of their atmospheric restaurant The Green Frog. Delicious dishes prepared and in between Alex told a lot about the history of Zakynthos and Greece. Drinks are included in the price and you will receive all recipes in the mail afterwards. Recommended!!

We had an absolutely amazing time at the Half-Day Greek Cooking Class. We had a brilliant morning learning how to make Greek dishes and learning about the history and culture of the island. Alex and his mum were great hosts and Alex’s knowledge about the island, the culture and the dishes was fascinating. The class was very well organised there were people from all over the world, so it was lovely to here some of their stories about where they live, the whole thing was so relaxed and friendly. My husband and I had a brilliant morning, watching and making the dishes and then getting to eat those dishes for lunch. It was an amazing experience and one we would highly recommend!

We were super satisfied with the entire course and had a lot of fun. We were able to gather some new impressions, and we especially liked that the instructor also talked about the history of the island, etc. We highly recommend it!

We had an amazing time at the Half-Day Greek Cooking Class on Zakynthos! My partner and I had such a good day—everything was so well organized and relaxing. We learned a lot about Greek cooking and culture, and it was wonderful to meet new people along the way. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, making it a truly memorable experience. This was an absolute holiday highlight for us! Thank you so much to Alex and Mandy for making the cookery class so engaging and informative from start to finish. It was brilliant to have a hands-on approach to the cooking. It was the best way to make and taste some of the classic Greek dishes - the moussaka was just delicious and something we’ll certainly be making again! It is also brilliant that the recipes are emailed to you afterwards so you can make them again at home. In addition, we felt that we got a real history lesson from Alex and have learnt a lot more about the beautiful island of Zakynthos. We would not hesitate to recommend this experience to anyone visiting the island!

This has been a great experience. You will make your own food, but also learn about Greek culture and history while preparing the classic Greek dishes. Eating your own-made lunch feels very satisfying and we will certainly bring the Greek cuisine to our homes!

This class was wonderful! They were very accommodating to food allergies and made everything very easy and fun to make. They gave a great history of not only the food influences but also of the island. It was very laid back and comfortable!

Holidays can so often be quite insular and don’t for all sorts of differing reasons and motivations even for an hour or two truly embrace the ‘where and what’ of wherever it is we go to have sun on our backs for a week or so. You encapsulated that subtly and perfectly. “Just be a visitor and not just a tourist” .Green Frog under your expert eyes, family surroundings, passion and heartfelt love for all you do forged over 34+ years shines through. If you are thinking about this experience and looking at this review, just do it. You won’t be disappointed. Take a moment out, sit and cook/eat/chat under the friendly care of Mandy, Alex and team. That sunbed is all the better when done something like this.

An exptionally enjoyable experience with Alex, Mandy and the team. I have completed a number of cooking courses, this one was amazing. The process from start to finish was spot on. Mixture of tasting, learning the cooking and listening to Alex's love and passion for Greek history. A class of around 14 around a u shaped table, in a shaded environment was the right atmosphere. I am really looking forward to having a stab at re-creating the recipes back at home. Γεια μας.
