Read the fine print because the Boat isn't included in your ticket price, it will cost an extra £50 PP if you're on a semi private tour. You spend a total of an hour and a half on the boat itself, the rest of the day you're driven around from one end of the island to the other in a van. The £87PP just covered the van experience which was going from view point to view point for pictures. Sometimes the van will just pull over on the side of the road and usher everyone out into the sun to take photos. You get on the boat around 12-12:30ish and come back around 2ish. When I searched for boat trips on tripadvisor I liked this option the most because it had a detailed itinerary of where we were going, what times and I liked how organised it was. However we skipped a few stops and there was no time frame in place. I can admit I'm not an easy going person and I like to keep to a good plan. I can still enjoy my holiday but it felt a bit too laxxed for me when I paid for something specific. The time we booked for was 10am but pick up was 9am and we got back to the hotel around 7pm. Navagio Beach with the shipwreck is advertised as beach admission included and the description literally says we will be here for 60mins, enjoy the view and then enjoy the beach for 30mins. Turns out the beach was closed to tourists a year or two ago so we can only enjoy the view, great view but the description needs updating since you're not allowed on the beach. I do think it's fair enough to keep the place safe and clear of tourists, just don't advertise that you can enter the beach if you can't. The itinerary is also listed as including a panoramic view of the beach, including a walk up the hill. We never did this, it was never mentioned or offered. I don't mind not doing this but again it's something advertised that never happened. I did expect the boat to take us to and from a lot of these places, maybe I should have read the description better but I also feel like things are left vague on purpose. I was searching for boat trips and this is advertised as a boat trip. When it mentions the Van i assumes that was just for pick up and drop offs, not as the main part of the tour. I can take responsibility for my assumptions being wrong. I've done boat trips before though trip advisor and the boat tour tends to be the whole day, a good 6-7 hours. not less than 2. The larger boat tour also advertises with a glass bottom but the semi private is a speed boat. I think the glass bottom would have been better even if there were more people. We visited two beaches in total for the whole day and it was a good 8-9 hour day trip. the majority of which you're in this mini van being driven around. The van does have cool air conditioning and cold bottles of water. So if you're wanting to do that then you'd enjoy it. I do feel like it's badly advertised as to what it really is. When it advertises all these beaches in the trip, it's just being driven to a hill and looking at them. Everyone and myself included was dressed in swim wear the whole day expecting more of a beach experience but its really a photo taking experience, I love taking photos but when it feels authentic and now when your traveling from one side of the island with this being the only purpose, it felt very instagram photo driven instead of really enjoying the Island and beaches, I swam once the entire day. We stopped at multiple hill tops, small towns. I think if this was advertised better as a tour around the island via Van it would have been more enjoyable. The whole time I was just waiting to get to a beach, which we never do. The boat is a speed boat, should have read the description better, never been on a speedboat before and i did not enjoy it. There is no easy or accessible way to get on or off the boat, I was terrified of jumping on and didn't end up getting off at any of the swimming stops due to fear of not being able to get back on. The driver was also very moody and rude, both me and my partner felt this way. He has an attitude, drove VERY fast and would go round corners purposely sharp. I guess some people enjoy this but i was terrified, he was crashing into waves and the boat would jump. At one point we were all thrown from our seats, it was really painful. I'm in my mid 30s and have chronic pain issues so I was covered in bruises. I did not find this funny and did ask him to calm down. There were 9 of us in total and it says the boat can fit 10 max but it was snug. I definitely expected a nicer and bigger boat more similar to my experience in Italy. The boat driver ignored me at one point when I tried to speak to him, he would be on his phone constantly, either texting or messing with music. I know there isn't much to crash into on the sea but it felt so unsafe with how fast he went and then not looking forward for minutes at a time. It was peak boat season so there were plenty of other people around and again I felt so unsafe the whole time. For swimming there were around 2 stops on the boat for people and at one of them he also got off to snorkel as well so I was alone on the boat. It felt a little strange when he's a paid guide but live your best life I guess. He also blasted his music from speakers the entire time, never asking us if we wanted music or what type of music we wanted. Felt very party oriented for young people. Not a bad thing but something to be aware of. I really didn't expect the boat portion to be so short and if i had known i just wouldnt have gotten on, I felt so pressured since I assumed it was going to be the whole day and id paid £80+ for the experience, I loved the boat tours id done previously and didn't want to miss out but if it was more known that its only a small portion of the trip and that its an extra £50 for the boat i would have stayed at the beach and waited for everyone to come back. You get an email or text the DAY of your booking to tell you it will cost an extra £50PP and the message was confusing. It sounded like this charge was for an optional third thing we would be doing and when it got to this option we would be asked to pay in advance or warned. However you are not, its sprung on us all last minute on the way home. A lot of people, not just myself, were very taken aback by this and other people had to check spam folders for emails that said the boat was an extra £50 since they also were not made aware. It seemed very intentional and dodgy. In Italy there was an extra £25 charge to swap boats to enter the blue grotto. 100% worth it. You pay for your ticket then and there when you go from one boat to the other and it's of course optional. I can't be crazy for thinking the £80 boat and van tour ticket price included the boat price. The extra charge is so well hidden in fine print and not clear enough in my opinion. It felt very scammy. Only being told on the day and then not making it clear till the end seemed like a trap since we have all already done the boat section. The driver stops us off on the way home at another view point made to seem spontaneous but it's clearly part of the intimidation tactics into getting people to pay for the boats. Why wait hours after the boat tour while we are on the way home to take payment. If the boat tour wasn't included in pricing why would we not pay the boat man the price while we were with him instead of the Van driver at the end. He stopped us at THE ROCK, with a little cafe. It's a very nice place and I think if it was at the beginning of the tour it would have been a lovely place to sit and get a drink. Everyone seemed exhausted by this point however and speaking to other people on the tour we all just wanted to get back to the hotels. I spoke to pretty much everyone else on the tour day and I was not alone in being confused by the extra charge. Most people thought it was outrageous. If it's included in the price then make it known. It's not £87PP, it's £137pp for the whole day. I also thought stopping at this place made us all feel trapped, we were all very far away from our hotels, tired and on the top of this hill isolated other than the one cafe. So of course people feel pressured into paying or you could be abandoned here. Once people were hit with the realisation of needing to pay an extra £50 and a couple of us were arguing the fee the vibe of the day fell flat, the otherwise friendly and chatty Van driver was not very quite and very assistant of payment, it brought the mood down so badly and this could have been avoided by just being upfront. Asking for payment at the begging or as we get to the boat. The fact it's sprung on you as a hidden charge really ruins the whole day. I'm not exaggerating when I say the majority of your day will be in this mini van. While the hidden charge and dangerous driving put a damper on the day it was a nice trip and I think I would have enjoyed it 10x more if it was simply more clear with what its advertising. A lot of people would be happy to pay £140 for a whole day around the island if they knew in advance. All the photos advertising the day are of course of the boat tour so we all assumed it would be a lot more beaches, swimming and boat related. In the end I felt safer in the van even though he also would be on his phone a lot while driving, chatting or not looking at the road. The roads are narrow and driving down these high windy roads is beautiful. I'd just appreciate it if he kept his eyes on the road. The day was still good, if you're more prepared for what it really is it could be better, I was wearing my swimming costume under a dress all day but only swam once at the beginning of the day. You stop at this small town with a giant olive tree, get taken to a cute cafe with a church nearby and many other little places. If i was prepared for it to be mostly on land i would have brought a better change of clothes. Some people were just in swim suits all day. Re-reading all the expectations and descriptions of the day it is 100% advertised as a boat and beach day. Just be honest and clear about what it really is.
It was a great experience! The boat was modern and comfortable, and the tour was fantastic. Also, a special thanks to our bus driver—very professional and smooth transfer. Highly satisfied!
We had an incredible time on this tour! We booked the standard group option expecting it to be crowded, but with only eight participants, it felt very comfortable and well-organized on both land and sea. The land tour was fantastic—seeing the shipwreck from above was a real highlight. Our driver and guide, Theo, was super professional, communicated well beforehand, and navigated those steep, winding mountain roads with complete ease. I was so glad we weren't driving ourselves! The air-conditioned coach was also a massive plus. On the water, our skipper Mario was brilliant, he handled the rough sea conditions so well! Viewing the shipwreck from the boat is well recommended. We were also glad that we had a very relaxed and unhurried swim stops. Highly recommended!
Lovely experience, I was alone so I had some concerns, but Theo helped me out, all the way through, definitely worth going again
Great trip to see numerous highlights of the island. Lovely reasonably priced lunch. Cave boat trip with swim stops was the highlight. Captain was a big personality and made it a lot of fun.
We had a fantastic experience! Our guide was amazing, and the tour was very well organized, with a great variety of interesting places and activities. The whole group really enjoyed the trip and we’re all very happy with the experience. Highly recommended!
We had the best day on this tour. It had everything - amazing views, clear water and some nice stops for food and shopping. We also had an amazing guide, Theodoris was simply great. So was our captain, Alexander. Overall the best way to spend a day here and actually get to know the island. Must do.
After the ferry crossing, we were picked up in the minibus at the port on time as planned. It was a day that you couldn't imagine being any better. Highly competent tour guide with an eye for the essentials. Everything went stress-free in the Greek way 😃. The boat tour was also conducted by a very competent tour guide. We were all thrilled and can recommend this day tour with a very clear conscience.
It felt like a privet tour with friends. Driver and skipper were very kind and everyone got his perfekt piktures from each spot! An amazing trip just like the flyer promised!
Great opportunity to see the shipwreck beach and swim at many beaches as well. Small group is also good because you don’t have to wait for as many people to get back on the bus
