Le temple Bulguksa a été classé premier site du patrimoine mondial de l'UNESCO en Corée en 1995. Pendant la dynastie Shilla, il y a près de 1 500 ans, le bouddhisme était la religion nationale et le temple Bulguksa a été construit pour faire du « pays bouddhiste » avec les meilleures techniques de construction.
Seokguram est une grotte en pierre artificielle construite avec une conception méticuleuse pour servir le Bouddha au 8ème siècle et qui a été désignée patrimoine mondial de l'UNESCO en 1995. À l'intérieur de la grotte, le magnifique Bouddha principal montrant l'essence de l'art bouddhiste de Silla est consacré.
Daereungwon, un ancien parc de tombes avec 23 grandes et petites tombes rassemblées. Parmi eux, Cheonmachong est le plus représentatif et est le seul tombeau de Daeneungwon à être dévoilé. On pense qu'il a été construit entre la fin du Ve et le début du VIe siècle, et des couronnes en or, des chapeaux, des ceintures et des chaussures en bronze doré ont été découverts au fur et à mesure qu'ils étaient portés.
Le pont Woljeong est à l'origine un pont en bois fabriqué sous la dynastie Silla. L'ensemble de la restauration a été achevé en avril 2018 grâce à une enquête, des témoignages et une restauration de 10 ans sur ce qui a été perdu et disparu sous la dynastie Joseon. Grâce à sa belle reproduction, il est devenu un lieu de tournage de drames et de films populaire.
Hwangridan-gil est la plus jeune route de Gyeongju. Il fait référence aux zones de Hwangnam-dong. Les jeunes ont commencé à se rassembler il y a quelques années et des cafés avec une bonne ambiance, des boutiques de souvenirs et des restaurants uniques ont été construits dans chaque ruelle.
Cheomseongdae, le plus ancien observatoire d'Asie. On suppose qu'il a été construit au 7ème siècle et qu'il constitue l'un des monuments symbolisant Gyeongju. On peut deviner que Cheomseongdae était utilisé pour calculer le mouvement du ciel afin de déterminer la période agricole et de prédire la bonne et la mauvaise chance du pays.
Le village de Gyochon est le lieu de résidence de l'homme le plus riche de Gyeongju, qui a conservé sa fortune pendant 12 générations et s'est consacré à ses études pour devenir ministre national pendant 9 générations. Il existe de nombreuses expériences uniques telles que l'expérience de la faïence, l'expérience de la fabrication de gâteaux de riz, l'expérience de la cérémonie traditionnelle du thé, l'expérience du hanbok, l'expérience de la sauce traditionnelle, l'expérience rituelle et l'expérience matelassée, etc.
Le musée national de Gyeongju est l'un des musées les plus importants de Corée, situé à Gyeongju, l'ancienne capitale du royaume de Silla. Le musée présente une remarquable collection d'artefacts de la dynastie Silla, y compris des couronnes royales, des bijoux en or, des sculptures bouddhistes, des pagodes en pierre et des objets du quotidien d'il y a plus de mille ans. L'un des points forts est la galerie Silla Gold Crowns, où les visiteurs peuvent voir l'artisanat exquis et l'élégance de la royauté Coréenne antique. À l'extérieur, le musée dispose également d'un magnifique jardin en pierre en plein air présentant de grandes reliques de pierre telles que des pagodes et des statues de Bouddha, permettant aux visiteurs de profiter de l'histoire dans un cadre paisible.

We had a good full day tour with Peter. He took us around the city in car and showed us all worth of seeing. He was good in explaining the history and Korean facts. It was a hot day and Peter ensured we were cooled down in between the sites so we could manage the full day. I can only recommend

I have taken several private tours over the years, and this is hands down the best one so far. Peter was very knowledgeable about the area and his English is really good. My mom has 3 ruptured discs in her back and uses a walker to help take the pressure off her spine. He adjusted our tour based on her limitations and she had a fantastic time. I also have a severe food allergy and he made sure we want to lunch at a restaurant which had things I could eat while catering to Mom’s love of traditional food. We had booked tours to two different with him and I am so happy we did. If you are going to book a tour this is the one to take. I would absolutely book a tour with him again.
