Wayne was very knowledgeable & gave us an excellent introduction to culture, history, way of life & tourist tips. It went at a good pace: not fast or slow & we saw many sites. I really enjoyed it.
Johanna was so thorough, knowledgeable, and kind. I was very grateful that she offered me her scarf upon seeing I was cold. She gave a wonderful tour of the city!
We did a 2.5 hour tour with Rikke at 10:30 on Sunday 16 November 2025. While they do not charge upfront for the tour, I hope everyone was generous with their tip for the Tour Guide, at the end, it was certainly worth it. The tour gave a really good insight into the story of Copenhagen and covered its founders, buildings, industry, language and, importantly for me, the social history. We covered a surprising amount of topics and places and Rikke was always on hand to answer the many questions we wanted to ask. We also had lots of tips on places to visit as well as places to go for a meal or a drink. Our tour finished at the Royal Palace (more like 4 stately homes) and we had the pleasure of seeing King Frederik X arriving home after the Guard Change. If you want to know all about Copenhagen in an interesting, interactive and friendly way, just do it. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
Jack was our tour guide for the Free Walking Tour/Grand Tour of Copenhagen. We like to do these tours on our first day in a new city to orientate ourselves and see places that we may want to revisit over the course of our trip. This tour was a little of this and a little of that--some history, some culture, seeing major landmarks and areas of the city--all tied up with some interesting stories. Jack did a great job entertaining all of us and the group wasn't so big--15 people--so a manageable size to take us around and answer questions etc. Definitely recommend!
I went on a Tour (The grand tour of Copenhagen) with Wayne from Copenhagen Free Walking Tours. You can book them also directly. The tor was approximately 2,5 hours long. It was quite a long tour, but very interesting the whole time. I can recommend this tour.
I would highly recommend Free Tours! My sister and I chose the Grand Tour of Copenhagen as it was our first time in the city, and I couldn't recommend it enough. We saw a lot of the city's highlights, and our guide Wayne was excellent in his knowledge on the tour. I learned a wide variety of information as the tour included history, cultural knowledge, learning some Danish words and information on the royal family. We had a great time!
We did the Classical Tour with Laura and the Grand Tour with Jacob. We had the best time with both. Both guides were so informative and engaging and we learned so much about Copenhagen. Both of these trips are a must do when visiting Copenhagen. You cover so many of the key buildings, areas and events in Copenhagen history. Thank you Laura and Jacob! My wife and I really enjoyed our time spent on these tours.
Insightful experience with Daniel O. Friendly and informative. Always enjoy a walking tour when visiting a city good for recommendations too.
Wayne was such a great tour guide! He has such a passion for the city that shone through, and was incredibly skilled at handling such a large group.
Had a wonderful time on this walking tour a few weeks ago! It was easy to find the meeting point for the tour, given the bright green umbrellas on the City Hall steps (see attached pic). We hadn't made a reservation since we weren't sure how jet lag would be affecting us, but the greeter was very welcoming and added the four of us to the English-speaking tour (it probably helped that we arrived 10-15 mins early). Weather was very nice and comfortable temps. Our tour guide, Wayne (I believe was his name), was very knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. He walked us through many key spots around the city, provided lots of interesting points about the local history, architecture, and language, and helped us see things we never would have noticed otherwise! Such a beautiful city, hard to take it all in without some guidance. At the end of the tour, he pointed out a cute little establishment where we could get locally-sourced snacks, drinks, and trinkets, which I really appreciated since so many souvenir shops are just full of items made elsewhere. All in all a fabulous day exploring Copenhagen, highly recommend!
