Be prepared for a long day full of lots of information and fun history tidbits from Thomas! This is a great way to get out of the city and see places you might not have gone to on your own. I highly recommend it. Thomas is so knowledgeable about the areas with wonderful recommendations for restaurants, too!
Great trip around the outskirts of Copenhagen. James was one of the best tours guides we have had in over 100 tours we have taken. Very well paced and excellent sharing of interesting information and quiet time to reflect . And he was a great driver. Highly recommend
Brian was a very knowledgeable and personable guide. He explained the history of the places that we visited clearly. It was a great excursion to learn about places outside central Copenhagen.
Very comprehensive tour of key sites around the general region of Copenhagen. Amazing amount of things seen and done in one day without feeling rushed. James, our guide and driver, was knowledgeable and interesting. It was clear he loved his subject and shared his expertise enthusiastically
This was an excellent way to see the main sites outside the main city. Transportation was very comfortable and the guide managed the schedule perfectly. He was very knowledgeable and polite. Excellent English skills. Each site is only an hour or two but you get to see a lot of highlights
This tour was perfect for our trip to Denmark! It gave us a little slice of everything for visiting locations outside Copenhagen with very little planning and stress if we tried to do everything by ourselves via public transport. The small van was perfect, comfortable, had AC, and provided water. It was great. Hamlet's Castle was very cool and the history was very interesting, we did see only a portion of the castle, but it included the main attractions without getting too distracted in every room. Frederiksborg Castle was the highlight, the place is amazing and had all we usually enjoy about castles. It is self guided and this part is also considered time to have lunch at a cafe. We would highly suggest that you pack your own lunch and eat on the van rather than waste time eating lunch here. We had roughly two hours at the castle and managed to see mostly everything at a leisurely pace, would've been rushed or missed parts if we tried to sit down for lunch here. The Cathedral was next on our itinerary and was very interesting. Honestly, we booked this tour for the two castles and the viking ships and forgot there was a stop at the cathedral. Ended up being a great stop off and super interesting. Finally the viking ship museum was super interesting, albeit the museum itself is quite small and easy to do. The highlights at the museum itself were being able to go onto some of the recreations of the ships that they have found. We had the entire longship to ourselves at the end of the day and it was great. Finally, our tour guide James was amazing and very informative throughout the whole trip. 10/10 would do again! FYI the viking ship museum had signs saying that they would be temporarily closed in the coming years as they relocate the ships to a new location on site. So if the viking ships are your main draw it may not be available in the future.
This was a great way to experience major sights around Copenhagen conveniently in one day. While each stop was relatively brief, that’s expected in order to fit it all in and James (our guide) did a great job of prioritizing each stop. By the end, I had a better knowledge of Danish history and I didn’t feel like I missed anything. I would advise packing a lunch, as the lunch break does cut into time for touring Fredericksburg castle, if you want more time at that stop.
Wow! What a fantastic day! Our minivan driver/tour guide/host Joseph pulled it all together and shared his vast knowledge of each location we visited. This tour provided the perfect complement to our time in Copenhagen by allowing us to get a much broader picture of Danish culture and history through visiting Kronberg castle, Fredericksborg Castle, Roskilde Cathedral, and the Viking Ship Museum - all in one day!! Each of them is not-to-be-missed if you want to feel that you’ve gotten to know Denmark during your visit to Copenhagen. And the stop for lunch was well-planned and coordinated. It’s a long day, but very highly recommended!
This tour was the best tour we have ever taken. Michael, the tour guide was exceptional. Very interesting & learned so much.
Thomas, our guy, was absolutely amazing! He is a local and knows every detail. His storytelling was on point and filled with just the right amount of information. The stops were incredible in the itinerary was efficient. This was one of our favorite guided tours we have ever done and we have traveled quite a bit. Don’t hesitate and book! It was our favorite day while visiting Copenhagen.
