We had a fun taste of Genoa with our charismatic guide, Lorenzo. The group was nice and small so we could get acquainted with each other and not feel like we were clogging the sidewalk. We got to sample delicious breads, fried fish, pesto, wine and the unique local coffee ice cream. Lorenzo helped to make sure my food allergies were conveyed to the restaurants, which was very kind. Along the way we were also shown a few architectural and cultural gems hidden behind the high defense walls of Genoa. We even got to meet the canine Doge of the city and pat him on the head :)
Lorenzo was a wonderful guide who was so passionate about his city and Genovese food. Due to a fault of my own I missed the beginning of the tour but Lorenzo kindly contacted me with instructions on where I could pick up the tour.
This was a great blend of history, sight seeing and food and wine. Lorenzo was an excellent guide, and he grew up and lives in Genoa. The food and wine choices were excellent and delicious. Well worth the time and a great value too.
Great food tour. We enjoyed Focaccia, Pesto, Wine, ice Cream, and the best Calamari Fritti ever. A nice mix of sights, history and food. You can tell that Lorenzo is passionate about his town and being a tour guide, he was great. Would highly recommend this tour when in Genova.
We went on the 2+ hours food and history walking tour through Genoa. Lorenzo was our guide- very simpatico, very funny, very knowledgeable and a very proud Genovese! We had a great time tasting a couple of breads , some fritti, gelato and a red and white wine. It was just the right amount of walking to get to know a little corner of Genoa.
Comprehensive, informative and satisfying. Our guide was light hearted and kept it chilled but also covered everything he needed to.
Direct flights with specific schedules; I took a taxi, thinking it would cost me a lot, but it didn't, and I paid with a card. At the hotel, I could only check in from 3 PM, but I arrived there at 7:30 AM. I walked all along Corso Italia, enjoying the sea and sun, but I was extremely tired, and at 1 PM, I asked for my room. Beautiful Genoa is worth visiting, but definitely with someone who knows it. I stayed one night for work reasons, but I would gladly return.
It’s a great way to see the city and experience some of the culture through food and exploring the city. Our guide was very knowledgeable, personable and did a really good job of including everyone and answering our questions.
Lorenzo gave us the best walking/food experience we have had in Italy Seriously suggest that you take this tour
This was a most wonderful food tour with delicious foods and history, 3 beautiful churches were included! Each person got a good portion of food. Lorenzo was knowlegeable and thoughtful during the whole tour and would recommend this tour to anyone!
