Guide with profound background knowledge :-) nanni, Aaru

Aaru, with his communicative manner and irresistible talent, must have been watching me for a while as I trudged through a rather uninteresting region in Kochi, eating lunch on the go and looking disoriented. The next day, he picked me up from my hotel, W&H View Residency near the synagogue district, and showed me almost all the interesting locations in Cochin within 3-4 hours! I would especially like to highlight his profound knowledge and his flexibility regarding the interests and wishes of his clientele. Highlights of our tour for me were the Jain temple, the laundry, and the Orthodox church built solely from clay and grass. Thank you very much, Aaru! P.S.: We are privileged to travel. Almost no Indian person is able to visit their dream destinations in their entire life. I do not know how aware we are of that at all times.

The Kind of Local Experience Every Traveller Hopes to Find

One of the best decisions I made in Fort Kochi was choosing this tuk tuk tour. It's easy to visit famous places, but it's much harder to truly understand a destination. Aaru has a way of making Fort Kochi feel welcoming, interesting, and full of life. Every street, building, and corner had a story, and by the end of the tour I felt like I had experienced the city instead of simply seeing it. What stood out to me was how thoughtful and attentive he was throughout the journey. He made sure the pace suited us, encouraged us to take our time at places we enjoyed, and shared plenty of local tips that we would never have found in a guidebook. The conversations were just as memorable as the sightseeing. Conversations felt natural, engaging, and full of genuine enthusiasm. You can immediately tell that he loves meeting new people and takes pride in introducing visitors to his hometown. His recommendations for local food and hidden spots turned out to be some of the highlights of our trip, and we left with wonderful memories, great photos, and a much deeper appreciation for Fort Kochi. If you're someone who enjoys authentic travel experiences rather than rushed sightseeing, this tour is exactly what you're looking for. Aaru is friendly, knowledgeable, professional, and above all, incredibly genuine. Thank you for making our visit so enjoyable. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this experience to anyone visiting Kochi, and we'd happily do the tour again.

⭐ More Than a Tour ~ A Memory I'll Always Carry

I've done guided tours in many places, but this one left a completely different impression on me. Fort Kochi is beautiful on its own, but seeing it through Aaru's eyes made me appreciate it in a way I never could have on my own. He didn't just take me from one landmark to another, he connected every place with stories, local insights, and little details that made the city come alive. What I appreciated most was that the experience never felt scripted or transactional. There was no rush to finish, no pressure to buy anything, and no feeling that I was just another customer. Instead, it felt like spending a few hours with someone who genuinely enjoys meeting people from around the world and takes pride in sharing the place he calls home. Some of my favourite moments weren't even the famous attractions, they were the quiet lanes, hidden corners, conversations along the way, and unexpected stops that I would never have discovered by myself. Those are the moments that made this experience unforgettable. Aaru has a wonderful balance of professionalism, humour, patience, and kindness. He knows exactly when to share information, when to let you simply soak in the surroundings, and when to stop so you can capture a beautiful photograph or just enjoy the moment. When I think back on my time in Fort Kochi, this tour is one of the first memories that comes to mind. It wasn't because of the tuk tuk, it was because of the person behind the wheel. If you're looking for an authentic local experience rather than just checking attractions off a list, book this tour without a second thought. You'll leave not only with beautiful photos but also with a much deeper appreciation of Fort Kochi and the people who make it so special. Thank you Aaru, for making my visit so meaningful. Wishing you many more happy travellers and continued success! You truly deserve it! 💯

Great tour of Fort Kochi

My friend and I had an excellent tour with Aaru. He is an informative and passionate local of Fort Kochi, and shared his knowledge of the places we went to. We enjoyed our tour, even though we had limited time and only did a short version of the tour, we were able to maximise the experience because Aaru was flexible and customised the tour to what we were interested in. Book him without hesitation. Thank you Aaru - if I could do it again, I would certainly do the longer experience.

🥇🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟AARU - WHAT A GUY! GOES ABOVE & BEYOND 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🥇

Where do we start………. What a fantastic guide Aaru was from start to finish - he really did go the extra mile to make us feel safe, valued and made sure that we had the best experience of Kochi/Cochi. We booked Aaru through Trip Advisor for our 1st day trip sightseeing around Kochi. Aaru took the time to find out what we as travellers really wanted to see of Kochi and adapted the trip to suit our needs. We visited a spice Mill & Aaru secured a local price for us for what we purchased & we managed to buy about 12 (100g) packs of spices for under £5 thanks to Aaru. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Aaru was very informative throughout the day and we felt that we saw the real Koch/India during our time with him. As we enjoyed Aaru’s company so much, we hired him for our 2nd day in Kochi. Aaru took us out into the countryside to see local people catching fish on the waterways and making a rope on their own premises - It was great to see traditional practices. Aaru then drove us down to Allepey where we spent a night on a Houseboat. Aaru was there to meet us the following morning to drive to our final destination in India - Varkhala. Aaru was always prompt and polite & caring and went the extra mile - nothing was too much trouble for him. As tourists Aaru cared about how much we spent and would always pay in the liquor stores and tourist places on our behalf - so that we weren’t ripped off. He always sourced the best ATMs so that we wouldn’t be ripped off. WHAT MORE CAN I SAY? OTHER THAN IF YOU ARE IN KOCHI: BOOK YOUR TRIPS WITH AARU BECAUSE YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED ……. HE HAS AN EXCELLENT ENGLISH AND PUTS THE TOURIST FIRST. OUR EXPERIENCE WAS VERY IMPORTANT TO HIM SO PLEASE SUPPORT HIM IF YOU’RE IN THE AREA AND LOOKING FOR THE BEST MOST CARING DRIVER. Thank you Aaru x

Favourite part of Kochi

I had an amazing afternoon with Aaru. If you are interested in seeing a different side of Kochi I highly recommend. He showed me local spice “factories”, perfume stores, peppercorn cleaning and sorting. We also saw local churches, ate at a local restaurant, and had a bit of history thrown in. The best part was definitely the man himself as I felt like I was being shown around by a friend - great for a solo female traveller. Thanks again !
