Nous quittons Mascate pour Nizwa, l'ancienne capitale d'Oman. Visite de la célèbre forteresse de Nizwa. Aujourd'hui, le for est un musée qui présente l'histoire du fort et de ses environs. En vous promenant dans la forteresse, vous aurez une vue imprenable sur la ville antique et les montagnes voisines. Cette impressionnante forteresse était une base utilisée par l'armée pour repousser les attaques et les sièges les plus durs.
Le site de l'un des plus anciens souks du pays, ce vaste marché est principalement dédié aux fruits et légumes, à la viande et au poisson, qui sont tous logés dans des blocs séparés derrière le grand
Birkat Al Mouz est une petite ville de la wilayat Nizwa dans le gouvernorat d'Al Dakhiliyah d'Oman. Birkat Al Mouz est situé au pied de Jabal Akhdar, donc tous ceux qui se rendent à Jabal Akhdar doivent passer par là.
Système d'irrigation d'Al Kattmyn, l'un des 5 systèmes d'irrigation du patrimoine de l'UNESCO. De là, nous montons jusqu'au Jebel Akhdar. Également connue sous le nom de Montagne verte, Jebel Akhdar abrite de nombreuses plantations de fruits et roseraies. Prenez le temps de vous promener dans les collines et de profiter de la vue sur la vallée
Le Jebel Akhdar ou Al Jabal Al Akhdar, fait partie de la chaîne de montagnes Al Hajar dans le gouvernorat d'Ad Dakhiliyah d'Oman. Il culmine à 2 980 m et englobe le plateau de Saiq à 2 000 m d'altitude.

I took a busy vacation trip from Canada with my partner in December 2025. I had an amazing experience with Mohammed Salim. We did the Nizwa/Jabel Akhdar tour. He want out of his way to not only made us feel welcome but treat us like a family. We not only went to all the necessary places in our itinerary, he was kind to get us some dates and breakfast. We had a very comfortable and enjoyable trip from Muscat to Jebel Akhdar. We were guided by Fauzi, who didn’t only drive but also explained about Oman history and culture. We stopped in some famous spots on the way, such as Nizwa Port, Nizwa souk, Nizwa old village, and Jebel Akhdar view points. Fauzi was knowledgeable and accommodating, made sure we enjoyed our trip. A full day was promised and it was - start at 8.30am and back at nearly 6pm. The drive is 140km and 2 hours each way. Comfortable. A good look at the rather forbidding countryside dotted by villages and towns. On the way an impromptu visit to our guide Ali’s home village with an insight into their life. The Nizwa Fort well worth a visit. Our tour included a visit to several markets - the merchants often welcome our guide with a handshake and a smiling greeting. Very few tourists due no doubt to the war but all very peaceful here. Then up to Jebel Akhdar mountains and a visit to the terraced gardens of olives, pomegranates and roses. Our guide a gentle softly spoken man with quiet humour. A long but satisfying day.

We loved this tour with our 4 year old. Said Al Kiyumi was an excellent guide and very knowledgeable. We’re only in Oman for 3 nights so it was great to see some other parts of the country. We would highly recommend. Big thanks for Said!
