The staff members at each stop, especially at the winery, were warmer and welcoming. In my opinion there should be few extra minutes to savour the wine and enjoy the atmosphere but it was well run and memorable tour. I'm definitely okay, with that.
As a solo traveler, I wasn't sure how wine tasting would go, but it was fantastic. The winery was family run, and they were so warm and welcoming. I tried souna and tsippouro, which were strong but fun to taste.
Guide Nikos showed us medieval streets, ancient ruins and cozy vineyard for wine tasting. Due to comfy van getting round was easy.
The day started off on a negative note. The message sent to us indicated that the pick up would be directly at the cruise port inside right in front of our ship. When we got off the ship, we saw many buses and private pick up cars and vans, but none of them were ours. We waited for at least 20 minutes to a half hour, but we saw no bus for us. Finally, we saw a bus a distance from our ship outside of the vehicle, waiting area, just sitting there for quite a while. I have a knee injury, do my husband walked all the way down, just in case it was ours; and it was. There was no excuse for why it did not come into the parking area where everyone else was, so I had no choice but to walk to it. The guide was very knowledgeable of the area and the history, and she was attentive to the needs of 2 of us who could not walk-through the whole city, and gave us a good option of where we could hang out and wait for the group to return. If I could give zero stars to the wine tasting, I would. we went to a little outdoor restaurant and a waiter came with four bottles of wine, olives, and bread. This was the main attraction that drew us to book this particular tour, since my husband truly enjoys trying new wines from various regions. The way this was presented was a major disappointment. It should never have been in the headline title that would attract someone to this tour. The visit to the ceramic factory was interesting due to the demonstration of making a vase and showing us how evenly distributed the thickness was throughout the whole piece.
We regret to hear about your disappointment. Let me address the concerns you raised: 1. The cruise terminal of Rhodes is within a 3-minute walk. You can verify this on Google Maps. When the parking spots right by the ship are full, we park in the second or third row, which is a maximum 2-minute walk from your ship. Even if you booked a private tour, no tour would pick you up at the gangway; you would still have to walk 2 minutes. 2. You waited 20 minutes because you arrived 20 minutes before the pick-up time communicated to your email and phone. Please check both sources. Also, note that the tour description clearly states the exact pick-up time may vary from the tour start time mentioned on your tickets and will be communicated closer to your tour date. 3. If you expected a dedicated wine tour at the vineyard, you booked the wrong tour. This tour focuses on sightseeing, with wine tasting at the end at one of the best restaurants in the Medieval City of Rhodes to sample the best local wines and learn about the vineyards. Please note that the tour description clearly states this tour is not recommended for people with limited walking abilities. Next time, please consider booking private versus shared tours. Other tour members have limited time ashore and do not want to spend it waiting for those with limited walking abilities. Please be considerate of others. Safe travels!
I had low expectations of this tour because I am not one to enjoy tours with a large group of people. Our tour guide did an amazing job of still giving us personal attention and information. She had great energy and passion for the city which was contagious. Perfect option as a shore excursion.
A really great trip. Our guide Dianna was amazing and so knowledgeable. Very well organised and you get to see the highlights of Rhodes! Thank you!
Diana our guide was good and knowledgeable but the wine and olive oil tasting was a massive disappointment. Just 3 wines - white, rosa, and red. And just one olive oil which the waiter didn't tell us anything about it. Pottery place was good but extremely expensive.
Thank you for sharing your feedback and for your kind words about your guide. We apologize for your less-than-satisfactory experience during the wine tasting at one of the Old Town's oldest and most popular restaurants. We regret that the waiter and sommelier didn't provide the level of information and service we aim to offer. This was due to our need to expedite them as your ship had an early departure that day. Regarding the ceramic workshop, our primary intention was to showcase the process to you, rather than to encourage purchases. However, for those interested in buying items, they had the opportunity to do so. It's worth noting that prices vary, starting at 3 Euros, depending on the size and intricacy of the artwork. If you happened to focus solely on the human-sized vase, we understand that it may have appeared expensive. Once again, we apologize for any disappointment you may have experienced, and we appreciate your understanding of the circumstances. We wish you safe travels!
Out your guide , Johanna made it fun and very educational . Not a full moment . Going to the old town of Rhodes was amazing . Very authentic and lovely hospitable people .
Thank you for your positive feedback! We're delighted to hear that Ioanna made your experience fun and educational. Exploring the old town of Rhodes and interacting with the hospitable locals sounds like a memorable adventure!
Genuinely friendly and informative. Relaxed experience with real thoughtfulness for the whole party. Great directions and times
Thank you so much for your kind words. We're delighted to hear that you had a relaxed and enjoyable experience with us, and that our team made your party feel welcome and informed. Your positive feedback about our clear directions and timings is greatly appreciated. We work hard to ensure that all aspects of our service meet the expectations of our guests, and it's reassuring to know we're succeeding in that regard. Your satisfaction is our highest reward!
Lindos was super crowded - a 10 minute walk to the acropolis took 30 minutes. There wasn’t anything to see at the acropolis either. The ceramic shop wasn’t anything special either, you get to see a lot of similar ceramics in the marketplace of lindos. The olive oil tasting was disappointing, it was just free sample at checkout. Lunch was good! And the tour of Rhodes was good, the tour guide explained a lot about inside the fortress! The wine tasting wasn’t anything special but it wasn’t bad. Overall, I should have just done a tour of Rhodes.
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. We regret to hear that certain aspects of your trip didn't fully meet your expectations. We recognize the inconvenience that crowded situations, particularly at popular historical sites like the Acropolis in Lindos, can cause. Our goal is to schedule our tours at times that avoid such challenges. On this occasion, we reached Lindos earlier than all the cruise ship tours, which resulted in the line to enter becoming five times longer by the time you were exiting. We also regret to hear that the Acropolis did not meet your expectations. It's usually a standout highlight for many of our visitors who value its rich history and stunning views from the top. Our apologies that the olive oil tasting didn't live up to your expectations. It's designed to be a brief yet memorable experience, providing our guests with a taste of the rich local flavors. While it's true that the products of the ceramic factory we visited can be found in Lindos shops, our primary reason for visiting was the pottery workshop, allowing guests to see firsthand how a lump of clay transforms into a work of art. However, we're thrilled that you appreciated the lunch and tour of Rhodes. Our team is dedicated to delivering informative and engaging tours, and we're pleased that you found this part of your trip worthwhile. Your feedback regarding the wine tasting has been duly noted. We strive to provide a selection that appeals to various tastes and will continue to enhance this experience. We genuinely value your honest feedback, and we regret that your experience was not flawless. Rest assured, your comments will be factored into our ongoing efforts to improve our services.
