o today I finally crossed Chefchaouen “the blue city” off my bucket list. Simply one of the most beautiful towns I’ve ever been to. The architecture, doors, the people, the cats, the light, the shadows and the myriad shades of blue were just what dreams are made of. I could spend days here enjoying this small town. Morocco has so much to love 💕 Visit to Tetouen “the Green City” after our tour of the blue city. It’s also a World Heritage site and an important Capitol in the north of Morocco 🇲🇦. Many Spanish and Jewish influences here and Franco would come here often. Like the blue city of Chefchaouen many Jews escaped here. But only one synagogue remains, which we saw. On buildings here you can spot the Star of David in the tiles. In the Medina here it was like walking past several hundred of personal Goodwill stalls. As you can see you can even find the kitchen sink, to phones, to single shoes. I got to taste some of the Berber soft cheese which had a delicious tang. Our guide, Said, led us to an old apothecary in a Riad with huge ceilings and walls lined with herbs and oils. Then they led us to the rooftop. Wow what a gift of the beautiful view to the Mediterranean Sea and the Atlas mountains. The cool breeze in this city was a respite from the heat we endured in the Blue city earlier in the day.
The excursion has been very good and highly recommended. I especially enjoyed visiting Chefchauen very much. It is beautiful! The driver has been very attentive and kind at all times. The guide in Chefchauen was very good, and the one in Teruan was adequate. They gave us a beautiful gift at the end of the tour. I recommend this tour!
Awesome places, awesome driver, very profesdional guides. Tetouan was unexpected and spesial. Chefchauen is amazing
-The Choufchouf was amazing; we had to hike with the guide for two hours and 1 hour to ourselves. That wasn't enough time, so after half an hour we went exploring on our own without guide. -Old Medina, Tetouana was superfluous to walk in between. Walking in the Centre had been enough.
Chefchaouen and our guide Fouad was the highlight of this excursion. Fouad was a great knowledgeable host and guide of his city. Aside from the quaintness of painting the buildings blue, what I really liked was that this is a functioning town/medina that we were able to experience and less of a tourist trap. The visit to the Tetouan medina was an experience in itself as it was so much more crowded than Chefchaouen. Said was a great host as well. Hamid was our driver and was able to navigate the streets admirably. The only thing missing from the excursion was the bottled water and gift in the description.
We really enjoyed this trip , especially the guided tour in Chefchauen with the local guide Najim
Long day but absolutely worth it. Both Chefchaouen and Tétouan are beautiful. I know lots of tours just do the Blue City but the White Dove (which has UNESCO heritage designation) is also worth a visit—the city is on the way and the visit is not as but definitely worth checking out if you like history and heritage. Both guides were great and spoke well in English. The driver was not as fluent but was super kind and kept the group happy with his energy and friendliness.
We had a great time with Yousseff our guide. Right from the get go he was showing us places along the way. Good experience love it.
We were a private tour of 7 to Tetouan and Chefchaouen. Our driver was wonderful and got us there and back safely in terrible wet weather! Our guide Said in Tetouan was so informative and showed us a lot in the time we had. We all enjoyed him. He was dressed so nicely! In Chefchaouen our guide Najib was the best! His English was excellent and he was super friendly! He had a well thought out tour and history and information to go with it! He answered all our questions and also gave us a sense of local life. We would ask for Najib again!
The ride you destination was horrible. The seats were very tight with very little legroom. We signed up for an English speaking tour but ended up on a tour that was divided into English and Spanish. Our guide for the tour of Chefchouen was good but our guide in Tetouen was very vdifficult to understand his English
