Exploration de Mylapore: Une visite culturelle et historique à pied
Description
Au cours de cette promenade, vous visiterez le temple en compagnie de notre guide expérimenté. Nous nous promènerons également dans les environs, où vous pourrez voir Mylapore dans tout son chaos surpeuplé. Les bijoutiers, les marchands de soie, les vendeurs de fruits et légumes et les marchands de fleurs des bazars offrent un décor coloré au temple. La promenade nous fait traverser de petites ruelles aux maisons anciennes, des boutiques de soie, des magasins vendant de la musique et des souvenirs religieux, des auditoriums « kutcheri », etc. Visitez le temple Kapaleeshwara, l'église Santhome et promenez-vous dans les ruelles de Mylapore au cours de cette visite de 3 heures. La visite se déroule principalement à pied avec un court trajet en auto-rickshaw (tuk-tuk local) organisé et inclus dans la visite et se terminera par des rafraîchissements du sud de l'Inde.

La promenade de Chennai se déroule à Mylapore, une ancienne région dont les archives remontent au Ier siècle après JC. C'est une terre de nombreuses divinités ! Notre promenade commence au temple Kapaaleswar, le temple le plus renommé de Mylapore. Ce temple sert de cœur à Mylapore, et notre guide percera les rituels fascinants qui s'y déroulent.

La visite à pied à Chennai nous amène à l'église principale de l'archidiocèse catholique de Madras et Mylapore. À l'intérieur de la superbe basilique néogothique, vous serez hypnotisé par sa beauté. Le sanctuaire abrite une petite relique d'os et la lance qui a transpercé saint Thomas en l'an 52, ce qui est vraiment le point culminant de cette promenade Chennai.

Great tour of Mylapore with a friendly and knowledgeable guide! I would not have understood most of what I was seeing in the temple without him, and the coffee and snacks we got at a local spot were a good chance to talk and for me to ask questions about local life. Great value for the cost!

We booked this tour for our first day in India to find out more about history, culture and religion. Rajesh met us on time and gave us an excellent tour of the Mylapore area. He was very knowledgeable about all of the sights we visited and we learnt a lot from him, especially about Hinduism. He took us to a cafe for delicious coffee and snacks and this was also a great opportunity to chat to him and he was very happy to answer all of our questions. Following the tour Rajesh was also really helpful in organising a driver for us to visit Mahibalipuram and go on to our next stop in Pondicherry at a very reasonable price.
