Nous nous dirigeons vers Mylapore, un ancien quartier résidentiel de Chennai dont l’histoire remonte à l’époque romaine, où il négociait le poivre et le beau tissu avec Rome contre de l’or! Nous visitons le magnifique temple de Kapaleeshwar. Construit au 7ème siècle, ce temple est dédié à Lord Shiva. Construit dans un style architectural dravidien, il possède un imposant «Gopuram». Les invités peuvent s'attendre à une expérience fascinante de rituels et de sérénité à l'intérieur du temple. Notre évangéliste culturel démystifiera les événements dans le temple!
Nous visitons une organisation monastique unique appelée Ramakrishna Math, dédiée à Sri Ramakrishna, le saint du XIXe siècle. Vous pourrez voir le temple universel, le sanctuaire, une belle Mantapam, un musée multimédia et une bibliothèque enchanteresse.
C'est un temple dédié à Sai Baba, le grand mystique qui a uni les hindous et les musulmans et prêché au sujet de l'amour universel et de la fraternité. Le temple est construit en marbre blanc et possède une lampe allumée depuis plus de 100 ans.
Nous visitons la célèbre basilique San Thome, la principale église de l'archidiocèse catholique de Madras et Mylapore. Nous pouvons voir des reliques de saint Thomas ici. C'est l'une des trois seules églises au monde à avoir été construite sur la tombe d'un apôtre. Les deux autres sont la basilique Saint-Pierre au Vatican et la cathédrale de Saint-Jacques-de-Compostelle en Espagne.
Fort St George est la première forteresse anglaise construite en 1644 par la Compagnie des Indes orientales. Nous visiterons l’église Sainte-Marie, la plus ancienne église anglicane d’Inde. Notre évangéliste culturel vous emmènera dans un musée pittoresque riche en reliques de l'époque coloniale et racontera comment la société des Indes orientales est passée d'une société de négoce à la souveraineté de l'Inde!
Nous explorerons le mémorial de Swami Vivekananda qui était un grand philosophe. Ses discours au Parlement mondial des religions tenu en septembre 1893 le rendirent célèbre en tant qu'orateur de droit divin et en tant que messager de la sagesse indienne dans le monde occidental. Le lundi, il est fermé.
Promenez-vous sur la Marina Beach, sirotez la fête et découvrez l'héritage de la ville à travers ses statues. Découvrez pourquoi une corrida est proche du cœur de Chennaites au mémorial de Jalikattu. Montez dans un vieux phare pour une perspective incroyable de Chennai ! Notez que le phare est fermé le lundi.

I have done this tour before with a different guide and company. This guide was extremely knowledgeable. Wonderful tour.
There was a mix up with the pick up location which had us running late, but the guide Gunnan was knowledgeable and flexible to a changing schedule. Some beautiful sites to see in Chennai

I had a wonderful experience on the Chennai city tour with 5 Senses, and I highly recommend them to anyone visiting the city. The entire itinerary was thoughtfully planned, allowing us to see Chennai’s major landmarks at a comfortable pace without feeling rushed. What impressed me most was their flexibility and excellent customer service. I had expressed an interest in visiting the Madras High Court, which was not part of the original itinerary, and they kindly accommodated my request. It was a much-appreciated addition that made the tour even more memorable. They also paired us with an excellent guide and a safe, professional driver, making the day smooth and enjoyable from start to finish. A special thank you to our guide, Kannan, who was outstanding. He is incredibly knowledgeable and shared fascinating insights into the history, architecture, and significance of the temples we visited, as well as the beautiful Santhome Basilica. His explanations brought each site to life and made the experience far more meaningful. Kannan was also very patient, attentive, and always happy to answer our questions. During our delicious vegetarian lunch, he took the time to explain each dish, how it is traditionally eaten, and the best way to enjoy the meal. It was a thoughtful touch that gave us a deeper appreciation of South Indian cuisine and culture. Overall, this was an excellent tour. Thank you to 5 Senses for the well-organised itinerary and exceptional service, and to Kannan for making the day so informative, engaging, and enjoyable. Visited kapileswari temple, jain temple, saint thomas church, high courry, n marina beach. Guide mr kannan was an excellent guide who was knowledgeable about the places, related history ,and able to answer our queries in a understandable way. Enjoyed the tour.
