Excursion à vélo d'une journée dans la réserve naturelle protégée de Lecce à Cesine
Description
La zone qui sépare Lecce de la mer prouve la beauté du paysage du Salento et conserve encore les traces du rôle important que cette zone a joué dans l’histoire. En partant de Lecce vers le sud-est par des routes secondaires, nous atteindrons le village fortifié d'Acaya, un site messapique où vous admirerez le majestueux château médiéval, les remparts du village et son ancien plan de ville, toujours conservé. Ensuite, nous nous dirigerons vers le parc naturel du WWF « Le Cesine », qui recèle de nombreuses belles plantes et oiseaux aquatiques. Nous nous rafraîchirons donc avec une belle baignade à Torre Specchia et nous retournerons à vélo à Lecce en traversant un paysage plein d'oliviers et de petits villages

Itinéraire
Nous passerons par la ville médiévale d'Acaya, en regardant le château et son mur défensif. Nous nous arrêterons sur la place principale pour une pause "Caffé leccese" (café avec glace et sirop d'amande).
Nous parcourons cette réserve naturelle bien préservée - où vous serez enivré par l'odeur d'eucalyptus et d'autres plantes / arbres d'autcton.
Si le temps le permet, nous nous arrêterons ici pour une pause baignade, pour se restaurer pendant les heures les plus chaudes et manger le sandwich que nous achetons habituellement à Acaya.
Retour en piste à travers quelques petits villages comme Vanze et Strudà, où nous pouvons faire une pause. En parcourant certaines routes de campagne, nous verrons des oliviers, reconnaissables à leur taille et à leurs bûches, de véritables œuvres d'art faites par la nature. Nous retournerons à Lecce par des rues secondaires entre les campagnes.

We were in Salento with friends in May 2025 and booked the tour Lecce-Otranto-Gallipoli-Lecce with Salento Bici Tour. 1 week of great weather, beautiful landscapes, good hotels and good atmosphere among the international participants. when you meet special people by accident! I would call the experience with Carlo and his collaborators this. People passionate about their work, their land and meeting others. We agreed before our arrival in Puglia various trips and experiences (bicycles, kayaks, aperitifs, sailing, beach, etc.) because we were a large group with lively kids! Carlo's team satisfied us fully, giving a special flavor to this trip, like the figs tasted along the rides! If lying in the sun is not enough... I absolutely recommend it!
Beautiful experience. Carlo professional and very nice and his assistants really always ready to meet every need or whim of us customers. The places are great. We particularly enjoyed ride around Leuca. Tours also suitable for children. Highly recommended!
We did the tour with Giulia. It was just fantastic! A mix of culture, landscape and sympathy. I did the self guided tour. Good bike,well prepared and GPS worked really good. A nice route through Lecce city, the small vilages south of Lecce, the olive groves and to the see. Although, the olive groves are what is left of it, this because all the olive trees are dead caused by the bacteria.

Preparation, correctness and beauty of the places. We were able to reach the nature reserve along roads away from traffic and surrounded by nature. The visit was very nice with trained guides and refreshment attentive to my Food needs.
It was a perfect day to bike. Our inspiring guide Melo appeared to be an expert in nature and food. After a long ride in the suburbs of Lecce and the Cesine parc , we enjoyed a fantastic Picnic on the beach where Melo , chef in natural food, served us local dishes and great stories.
Cube woman bike and Scott.man bike. Scott was brand new. Both excellent quality, also for off road. We went to San Foca, some parts off road. Very nice lady giving advice. I would go there again.
