Excursion Privée à la Recherche de Truffes et Dégustation

Description

The best of the best truffle hunting experience. We love everything here, the knowledge, the area, the hunting experience, the pups, the food, and the most important: the lovely hospitality from Flavia and her kind mother. They’re very much considerate and ensure our trip to and from the town was seamless. I can say this is more than a truffle hunting tour operator but it’s like visiting a lovely family that welcome you to their lovely compound. Thank you again!
Had the most INCREDIBLE truffle hunting tour with Flavia and her two adorable Lagotto Romagnolo dogs. The property is beautiful, Flavia is so knowledgable, and the lunch that her mother cooked for us after our hunt was one of the best on our trip. This was maybe our favorite part of our whole trip, a seriously unforgettable and one in a lifetime experience.
I’m a truffle lover and this experience was amazing! Being side by side with Flavia, Trilli and Maya was an opportunity to learn even more about this universe! Laura did an amazing lunch for us, everything was really tasty. They welcomed me and my family in a lovely way! The best day of our trip!
This is the best experience you can book in Italy! From the moment Flavia picked us up from the train station, to the truffle hunt itself, to the classroom session on truffles she taught, to the five star lunch, this place is a must and the highlight of our trip to Italy. We will be booking this experience again on our next trip, and the trip after that, and so on. Thank you Flavia for an unforgettable experience for our family!
It was a really really nice experience. It was more than just the truffle hunt itself, it was explained how the truffle grows, how they started and how to harvest. You will learn a lot about the different truffle varieties and their differences. You will go truffle hunting with the dogs and Flavia - don‘t forget your hiking shoes ;) The food that is served is really really good. Amazing quality and home made food. They definitely know how to make food with truffles without letting the truffle overpower the whole dish. Flavia and Mama Laura were so nice and friendly. We had a great time and we felt welcome from the very first moment. We were treated like family, which made the experience even better. Overall an experience, that you should not miss! Would rate it a solid 10/10 and will definitely be back another time.
If you have no family in Italy, this is a close second. Flavia and her mother are very welcoming to their charming home in the mountainside. It was an authentic experience and a great escape from the busy touristy cities. Maya and Trilly were the stars - following them through the woods as they played around and worked hard. Despite it being early in the season we found a couple on our search. Lunch was a wonderful experience, home cooked with endless truffles in each creative dish. We especially enjoyed our dessert and our conversations with the hosts. Highly recommend building this into your itinerary!
What about, Flavia and Laura are exceptional: two wonderful people. It was an unforgettable experience together with Maya and Tinker Bell, two spectacular dogs, looking for truffles. The food is great and you can feel all the love Laura puts into her dishes. If you want to breathe freedom and love into things, this is the place. The apartment was clean and cozy, really cuddly. The love they put into their animals and their work really shows. We leave only 5 stars because more you can not. Thank you very much!
Il Borgo del Tartufo is a family operation set in the Parma Apennines that feels like an invitation into someone’s actual life rather than a staged tourist experience. Flavia leads you into the forest, past wildflower fields and the truffle farm, with her Lagotto Romagnolo dogs Trilli and Maya setting the pace. The dogs know their job, and yours is simple: watch them, follow them, and reward them when they earn it. They move through the woods with focus and obvious joy. When one of them starts digging, you move fast — you want to be there to catch the truffle as it comes out of the mouth, or to carefully help coax it a little deeper from the soil. On our visit the two of them turned up 90 grams between them, which felt like a genuine reward for everyone involved, dogs included. Flavia explains the ecology and the training behind it all as you go, and by the end you understand truffle hunting at a level that will permanently change how you read a menu. The terrain is real Apennine hillside — not a manicured path — so wear actual hiking shoes. The effort is worth it. Then comes the lunch, and this is where the experience becomes something else entirely. Flavia’s mother Laura cooks, and the two of them operate as a seamless team — one who knows the land, one who knows what to do with what it produces. The dishes are built around their truffle products, and the highlight is getting to shave the truffles you found yourself directly onto your meal — a small detail that makes the whole morning suddenly feel very real. It’s generous, unfussy, and genuinely delicious in the way that only happens when a family feeds you rather than serves you. The Parma Apennines sit almost exactly between Parma, Cinque Terre, and Milan — a rare case where a detour genuinely pays off logistically. Book in advance, especially on weekends. Flavia and her mom made our experience so special! Highly recommend.
This was definitely a highlight of our two week trip in Italy. The view was amazing, the hunting for truffles was amazing, the dogs were amazing, the hosts were amazing but the food was beyond amazing.
