Votre visite commencera à 7h30 de votre hôtel à Kandy. Vous vous rendrez ensuite à la gare de Kandy pour vous y rendre avant 8h00. Le train partira à 8h40 et vous serez réservé des places optimales pour le tourisme. Alors que le train se rend à Ella, vous pourrez voir de nombreux sites touristiques. La première partie de la balade vous permettra de vous régaler à la vue du soleil levant sur les montagnes brumeuses. À mesure que le temps arrive en milieu de matinée, les plantations de thé vert clair et les pentes ondulées des vallées deviendront visibles. Vous pourrez voir des fleurs sauvages aux couleurs vives dans des prairies intactes et des villages et des villes occasionnels avec des maisons agréablement confortables. En vous rapprochant d'Ella, vous vous retrouverez à traverser des peuplements d'arbres et des parcelles de forêt avec des arbres de plus en plus grands. Vous pourrez prendre des photos de tout cela et plus encore. Nous vous recommandons d'apporter vos propres collations car il vous faudra jusqu'à 15h00 pour arriver à Ella. Une fois sur place, vous pourrez visiter la ville et prendre un délicieux repas dans l'un des cafés à vos frais. Après le déjeuner, vous pourrez vous promener dans la ville. À 16 h 30, vous quitterez Ella et serez reconduit à Kandy. Vous rentrerez à votre hôtel avant 21h00 pour terminer votre visite.

Booked this trip with Unique Lanka. Contact was made a few weeks prior to the trip which was promising, however we were not informed that trains would not be running from Kandy to Ella due to railway damage. In addition to this, making arrangements to organise train tickets for part of the trip (Demodra to Ambuwela) took up a lot of time and effort. On the day of the trip, we were picked up by the driver slightly later than expected and unfortunately, whilst he was a helpful and respectful gentleman, he was unable to speak English as advertised. This sadly meant that communication was limited and this impacted on our experience in terms of being shown around the landmarks. That being said, the 1st class train ride was one of the highlights and did not disappoint. The weather conditions (heavy fog & rain) were very bad at night time and the driver did an excellent job taking us back in these hazardous conditions. It would’ve been nice to have seen Ella town more during this trip rather than a quick pass through in the car, but just had to capture the moments as best as we could. Overall, mediocre tour which could have been alot better with better organising of the itinerary and communication from the tour company.
12 hours before departure our booking was suddenly cancelled because there were no tickets available. We booked 2 months in advance and received a confirmation
The train got cancelled and Unique Lanka never alerted me that this does happen on and off. If they had done it, I might have had a buffer day and not wasted the purpose of my whole trip. Also the Vehicle provided by Unique Lanka Tours was very Bad. Even after requesting for change they did not bother as they knew I had no other options. For the high price Unique Lanka charged, they offered very poor and lousy , dirty car. Profit seems to be their only motive. Avoid Unique Lanka at all costs.
DO NOT MISS😁 this is one of the most scenic and amazing train trips of all time, 7 hours of going thru and around mountains seeing tea plantations and rainforests and you can hang out the doors as they leave open👍
