Faites une visite privée d'une journée à pied de Lantau avec votre Guide personnel et visitez le grand Bouddha inspirant et le village sur pilotis merveilleusement pittoresque de Tai O. Votre visite comprend un tour sur le téléphérique de Ngong Ping au grand Bouddha et une promenade en bateau à Tai O. Les visites durent 7 à 8 heures. L'île de Lantau est souvent appelée les «poumons de Hong Kong» car elle est si verte et sous-développée. Faites une visite de Lantau avec nous et visitez le grand Bouddha impressionnant et le village sur pilotis merveilleusement pittoresque de Tai O. Nos visites privées de Lantau durent 7 heures, 8 heures avec prise en charge à l'hôtel. Votre visite privée de Lantau commence par une promenade sur le téléphérique de Ngong Ping. Vous profiterez des plus belles vues sur Lantau Country Park et l'aéroport pendant que vous voyagez à l'arrière de l'île pendant 25 minutes. Notre destination est le célèbre Big Buddha. Ici, vous en apprendrez plus sur le bouddhisme, montez les 268 marches menant au Bouddha, visitez le monastère de Po Lin et la salle des 10000 bouddhas. De Ngong Ping, il faut compter 20 minutes en bus pour Tai O, affectueusement surnommée la Venise de Hong Kong. Tai O est l'un des rares endroits à Hong Kong où vous pouvez encore voir des maisons sur pilotis au-dessus de l'eau. Tai O était autrefois une grande communauté, mais en raison du déclin de l'industrie de la pêche, elle, comme Venise, est maintenant principalement une destination touristique, tant pour les visiteurs étrangers que pour les Hongkongais échappant à l'agitation de la ville. Tai O est toujours connu pour sa production traditionnelle de pâte de crevettes et pour son marché coloré de fruits de mer.
Survolez le ciel dans le téléphérique de Ngong Ping 360 pour une vue imprenable sur certains des plus grands sites naturels et historiques de Hong Kong. En sortant du téléphérique, vous serez accueillis par le village Ngong Ping de 1,5 hectare à thème culturel, où un large éventail de boutiques et de restaurants vous propose une délicieuse expérience de shopping et de restauration.
Le monastère isolé de Po Lin, caché par des montagnes luxuriantes, est devenu une attraction populaire lorsque l'extraordinaire statue du Bouddha Tian Tan (officieusement connu sous le nom de Big Buddha) a été érigée en 1993. Le monastère de Po Lin est l'un des sanctuaires bouddhistes les plus importants de Hong Kong et a été surnommé «le monde bouddhiste du Sud». Abritant de nombreux moines dévots, ce monastère est riche en manifestations colorées de l'iconographie bouddhiste et son agréable jardin est animé de chants d'oiseaux et de parfums fleuris.
Tian Tan Buddha ou le Big Buddha est la deuxième plus grande statue de Bouddha en bronze assis en plein air au monde. Assis à 34 mètres de haut et face au nord pour regarder le peuple chinois, ce majestueux Bouddha en bronze attire des pèlerins de toute l'Asie. Les yeux, les lèvres, l'inclinaison de la tête et de la main droite, qui sont élevés pour offrir une bénédiction à tous, se combinent pour apporter une profondeur humble de caractère et de dignité au Bouddha massif, qui a pris 12 ans à compléter. Montez les 268 marches pour regarder de plus près cette statue remarquable et profiter de la vue imprenable sur la montagne et la mer qui peut être vue depuis sa base.
Tai O abrite le peuple Tanka, une communauté de pêcheurs qui ont construit leurs maisons sur pilotis au-dessus des marées de l'île de Lantau depuis des générations. Ces structures inhabituelles sont interconnectées, formant une communauté très soudée qui vit littéralement sur l'eau. Leur monde enchanteur est le paradis des photographes. Le pont-levis à commande manuelle qui enjambe le ruisseau étroit qui divise la ville a remplacé un «ferry» tiré par des cordes qui a fonctionné pendant plus de 85 ans.
Une visite à l'hôtel Heritage, datant de 1902, ce bâtiment était autrefois le poste de police de Tai O et l'un des premiers postes de police construits dans les nouveaux territoires. Il est situé sur une petite colline à côté de l'embarcadère des ferries de Tai O. Le bâtiment a été revitalisé et transformé en Tai O Heritage Hotel en 2012. L'hôtel comprend neuf chambres et suites de style colonial avec vue sur la mer et un restaurant sur le toit servant des spécialités de Tai O. Les canons, les projecteurs et les tours de garde environnants ont tous été restaurés. Ici, le déjeuner vous sera servi à la fin de votre visite.

- Cette tournée nécessite que vous soyez en bonne forme physique. Vous marcherez entre 5 et 10 km au cours de la journée. La distance à laquelle vous marchez dépendra du degré de marche que vous souhaitez faire à Tai O. Vous marcherez à un rythme lent, sur un terrain plat, mais vous devez être en bonne santé. Si vous souhaitez visiter le Grand Bouddha de près, vous devrez pouvoir gravir 268 marches!
- Parfois, le téléphérique est fermé pour maintenance. S'il est fermé le jour de votre visite, votre guide vous remboursera le prix des billets du téléphérique et vous utiliserez le bus à la place.

We had the most fabulous time with Alfred. He was well on time, friendly and enthusiastic about the day ahead. We went straight to the cable car station via the metro and were able to upgrade to a Crystal cabin which he helped us arrange. He took lots of photos for us and was very knowledgeable about all aspects of Hong Kong, past and present and great to chat to. The cable car ride is a must, as is Big Buddha and the Lotus Temple is beautiful. The bus ride to Tai O was comfortable and short and the village is very interesting. We enjoyed the boat trip and meal at the Hotel which is included and returned to our hotel a little tired but very happy. I can’t recommend this trip enough and would ask for Alfred again if we ever come back to Hong Kong.

We had an amazing day with our guide Alfred who was very knowledgeable and attentive and made the trip very enjoyable. Lantau is definitely worth a trip if you are in Hong Kong. The Big Buddha is a wonder, and the trip to Shek-O was also very interesting. Alfred showed us some different temples and explained the different religions and beliefs in detail. He also took lots of photos for us. Lunch was very good too. Our only issue was the listing, which we found misleading. We booked when we were already in Hong Kong so assumed that the price shown was in HK dollars, however it was actually in US dollars which we only realised when the cost appeared on our bank statement. Since we were in Hong Kong when we booked, and are UK based it never occurred to us that the price would be in US dollars, and the listing didn't show this - it just showed the dollar sign, not which dollars we would be paying. This made the cost a lot more than we had anticipated. Having said that, we had a great day, and would definitely recommend Alfred as a guide.

We had a fabulous day, we were very lucky to have Sinclair as our guide. He was amazing, he had some much knowledge, made the tour fun and he took lots of great pictures. He met us at our hotel and we took the underground train to the cable car. We had our own cable car and travelled up to the site of the Big Buddha. We climbed the steps to see the Buddha and also went inside. Sinclair talked us through the history. We then visited the monastery and temple before traveling by bus to the fishing village. We then took a boat around the harbor and searched for the white dolphin. We finished our day with a visit to the local shops and a delicious traditional meal. Sinclair made it a very memorable day.
