We decided last minute to take this trip and were so happy we did. Easy to book, good value, clear instructions on pick up time/place, efficient and organized day-of-check-in team, detailed and accurate itinerary, regular bathroom breaks, amazing sites, clean bus, safe drivers, outstanding guides who were friendly, genuine, knowledgeable and took time to give personal attention to each passenger (Peter and John! They will make you laugh and make you feel like you've been long time friends!). Even though we had some rain, it made the trip even more memorable. We took the optional boat excursion on Loch Ness and really enjoyed ourselves. Can't say enough about the good vibes on the bus, history we learned, and accompanying playlist of music that enhanced the drive. We are already making plans to return to Scotland and that is in big part because of our experience with our Hairy Coo tour! Thanks to the whole team for an unforgettable experience!
What an incredible 3-day tour with Hairy Coo! From the Isle of Skye and Glenfinnan to Inverness, Glencoe, and the stunning Highlands, every stop was breathtaking. The itinerary was well planned, and there was just the right balance of sightseeing, photo stops, and free time to enjoy Scotland's incredible scenery. Every stop felt like a postcard, but what truly made the trip unforgettable was our guide and driver, John R. John wasn't just a driver—he was part comedian, storyteller, historian, and DJ, all while expertly navigating the winding Highland roads! His commentary was the perfect mix of history, local legends, dramatic storytelling, and hilarious one-liners that kept the whole bus entertained. His passion for Scotland was infectious, bringing every castle, glen, and loch to life. Even the long drives flew by because there was always something fascinating—or funny—to hear.He looked after everyone so well while somehow making even the long drives feel far too short. If you get John R as your guide, you're in for a brilliant trip!
We had an amazing 3-day trip exploring the Scottish Highlands, and I couldn't recommend it more. Our tour leader, Peter, was absolutely fantastic. He has an incredible knowledge of Scottish history, along with plenty of fun facts and entertaining commentary that kept every journey interesting. He also has excellent taste in music, if you ever get the chance, steal his Spotify playlist! Best of all, he always kept the volume at the perfect level, creating a great atmosphere without overwhelming the coach. Peter was experienced, relaxed, and genuinely fun to spend time with. He made sure everyone was comfortable throughout the trip, regularly checking in with each of us to see if we were doing okay. We had plenty of breaks for coffee and bathroom stops, so the journey never felt tiring. I really enjoyed every place we visited. The weather wasn't the best, but that's hardly something anyone can control! In fact, I thought the rain added to the authentic Highland atmosphere and made the scenery even more memorable. A special mention also goes to our driver, John, who was brilliant throughout the trip. Together, Peter and John made a great team. One of the highlights was staying in Inverness, which is an absolutely beautiful town. Peter even took us to a few extra spots that weren't on the official itinerary, giving us the chance to experience even more of the Highlands. At the end of the tour, we had a fun game together, and everyone even got the opportunity to play their favourite songs, which was a really nice touch. Overall, this tour was worth every penny. Everything was so well organised that all we had to do was sit back, relax, and enjoy the breath taking beauty of Scotland. I would 100% recommend this tour to anyone looking for a hassle-free and unforgettable Highland experience.
Great guide worked hard to make tour fun.
If there’s anything worth your money, it’s this tour! We had the pleasure of being escorted around the highlands by our wonderful guide, Paul S. Not only is Paul S incredibly knowledgeable about Scottish history but he’s absolutely hilarious as well. As a woman, I appreciated his eye for photography because he always knew the best spots and lighting for pictures. My husband and I appreciated hearing the history of the people as we journeyed through the highlands. We are the descendants of Indians who were taken to the Caribbean (Guyana) as indentured servants by the British after the end of the trans Atlantic slave trade so we found ourselves deeply resonating with the history we were learning throughout this trip. Paul S’ passion about this history only added to the impact it had on us. Overall, we had three wonderful days of learning, adventuring, and beautiful sunlight (truly a blessing). We cannot wait to return to Scotland and we’d definitely book the Hairy Coo to venture out into the country again! Oh also, thank you Paul S for the amazing tracks! You’ve given Beluga Lagoon some new fans :))
Highland Cultural History Folklore -101 with John (true) King of North is great...no, amazing...nah I'm lying...it's legendary 🙌
This was one of the most informative and enjoyable Highland tours I’ve ever been on. Our guide, Paul S., is someone who truly loves his job, and it shows in every moment of the tour. He has a fantastic sense of humor and tells fascinating stories about every place you pass—not only the history and culture, but also fun local legends, interesting facts, and even a bit of Scottish gossip that makes everything come alive. He never misses an opportunity to share something memorable. What made the experience even more special was the carefully chosen playlist. The music perfectly matched the landscapes and created an immersive atmosphere that made us feel connected to Scotland’s culture. Rather than simply showing us Scotland, Paul made us experience it. It felt truly magical. The tour was very well organized from start to finish, and the balance between sightseeing, storytelling, music, and humor was perfect. If you’re looking for an authentic Highland experience with a guide who is passionate, knowledgeable, and genuinely entertaining, I couldn’t recommend Paul S. more highly. This tour was definitely one of the highlights of my trip to Scotland. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
