Description
Découvrez la "Cité des Trois Cultures" par vous-même! Tolède, située à 70 km de Madrid, est une belle ville-musée classée au patrimoine mondial de l'UNESCO. C'est l'une des villes les plus anciennes d'Europe et possède une grande beauté artistique et des bâtiments de presque toutes les périodes de l'histoire (style arabe, gothique, mudéjar, style Renaissance et baroque). Tolède est appelée «la ville des trois cultures», puisque chrétiens, musulmans et juifs vivaient ensemble. Au XVIe siècle, c'était également le lieu de résidence du grand peintre El Greco. Une fois à Tolède, vous organiserez votre journée à Tolède comme vous le souhaitez. Une visite guidée d'une heure à Tolède est incluse. Retour à Madrid de Tolède à 16h00, le point de rendez-vous à Tolède pour le retour sera devant le restaurant Hacienda del Cardenal (Pú de Recaredo 24), près de la Puerta de Bisagra. Nous ferons un tour panoramique en bus et nous nous arrêterons à Mirador del Valle pour prendre des photos.

Lors de cette visite, vous pouvez profiter d'une visite d'environ 50 min. par l'extérieur de la ville. Le train s'arrêtera au point de vue de la vallée, où nous pourrons profiter d'une splendide vue panoramique sur la ville de Tolède.
Cette construction mudéjar a été construite en 1180. Elle est composée de cinq nefs séparées par des piliers soutenant des arcs en fer à cheval. Au 15ème siècle, elle fut transformée en église, bien qu'aujourd'hui ce soit simplement un monument ouvert aux visiteurs. Il a un plafond à caissons en bois, des autels plateresques et un retable de l'école de Berruguete.
L'église paroissiale doit avoir été fondée après la Reconquista chrétienne de la ville par Alphonse VI en 1085, car la première nouvelle de son existence date de 1142. Depuis le premier édifice mudéjar, elle a conservé le grand arc multifonctionnel superposé au arche principale qui sépare la nef principale du presbytère ainsi que les solides contreforts de cette partie de la nef et un petit arc en trèfle sur une frise en brique disposée dans le style mudéjar qui subsiste dans la partie haute de église originale à nef unique.
La cathédrale primatiale de Sainte Marie de Tolède est une église catholique romaine située à Tolède, en Espagne. C'est le siège de l'archidiocèse métropolitain de Tolède
C'est aujourd'hui le site du musée de l'armée de la ville. Sa construction date de l'époque romaine. Pendant les règnes d'Alphonse VI et Alphonse X 'le Sage', il fut reconstruit et devint le premier exemple d'une forteresse carrée avec des tours aux angles. Il fut à nouveau reconstruit sous l'empereur Charles Quint, à cette occasion par l'architecte Alonso de Covarrubias. Les façades sont de style Renaissance et présentent des tours et des défenses crénelées selon les plans préliminaires d’Alonso de Covarrubias, complétés par la suite par Juan de Herrera. Après la dernière reconstruction, il est devenu le site des bureaux et du musée de l'armée.

The tour company overbooked. We were the last two standing with one seat left on the bus. After 30 confusing minutes they took a single rider off the bus and we boarded, sitting at opposite ends of the coach. Very poor organization and communication.

We had spent nights in Toledo before.Tour guide recommended that we do not do the Tourist Train, but to do her tour, so we paid 20 euros each extra to do so. Problem was we were constantly on the move with little time to take photos other than the designated stops. We felt rushed and we had no intention of having lunch, but we would not have had time anyway. I would call this a non stop whirlwind tour of Toledo, and would recommend seeing the Alcazar rather than the Synagogue, which was not really much to see. Also, the area where we were let loose for lunch was isolated with not many choices to eat.
Dear William, You bought our Toledo Full day on your own with a panoramic tour in the Tourist Train of Toledo. Given that you were already doing a bus panoramic tour with us, our guide gave you the option to upgrade your tour visiting 2 other monuments with the group, instead of doing the train panoramic tour, and you agreed with this. The 20 euros you paid was for the ticket to the cathedral with an inside guided tour. We are sorry that you regret to have made that choice and that you would have preferred to have enjoyed more free time on your own. The Synagogue you visited is a National Monument, and one of the highlights of the city. We agree with you that the Alcazar is also very interesting, specially for those people interested in the military history as it’s the Museum of the Army. Our tour stopped for lunch in an area with a few restaurants and shops for our travelers to choose the one they prefer. It’s great that you spent some nights in Toledo before. The kindness and sympathy of the guide Arantxa make the excursion very enjoyable. Despite taking the tour on our own, on the bus ride and on the walk to the meeting point he gives very interesting explanations. The tourist train part is really unnecessary, because it makes the same route around the city that the bus already makes when it arrives there. It would be more beneficial if you included another attraction in its place.
