Excursion d'une journée à Pétra depuis Aqaba
Description
La ville de Pétra, la capitale des Arabes nabatéens, est l'un des sites archéologiques les plus célèbres au monde. Elle est située à 240 km au sud de la capitale Amman et à 120 km au nord de la ville d'Aqaba sur la mer Rouge. Pétra est une merveille du monde. est sans aucun doute le trésor le plus précieux et la plus grande attraction touristique de Jordanie, et il est visité par des touristes du monde entier. On ne sait pas exactement quand Pétra a été construite, mais la ville a commencé à prospérer en tant que capitale de l'empire nabatéen à partir du 1er siècle avant JC, qui s'est enrichi grâce au commerce de l'encens, de la myrrhe et des épices. Pétra fut ensuite annexée à l'Empire romain et continua à prospérer jusqu'à ce qu'un grand tremblement de terre en 363 après JC détruise une grande partie de la ville au 4ème siècle après JC.

Nous viendrons vous chercher à n’importe quel endroit d’Aqaba et conduirons jusqu’à Pétra avec un court arrêt en chemin. Il faut environ 2 heures pour atteindre le centre d’accueil des visiteurs de Pétra où nous commencerons notre voyage à pied vers la 8e merveille du monde. Après avoir marché 800 m, nous atteignons le Siq (un canal rocheux qui mesure 1 200 mètres de long, 3 à 12 mètres de large et atteint jusqu’à 80 mètres de haut). Le Siq s’ouvre sur la plus magnifique façade de Pétra – le Trésor, ou Al Khazna. Après le Trésor, le chemin s’élargit en une large rue des façades flanquée de chaque côté des tombeaux qui caractérisent l’ensemble du site. La rue des façades nous mène au théâtre de 5 000 places, creusé en plein milieu d’une importante zone de cimetière : en face du théâtre, sur le côté ouest du Jebel Khubtha, nous atteignons notre point final – les tombeaux royaux. Après une visite des tombeaux royaux, retour à Aqaba. Les quatre heures restantes sont consacrées au transport.

Very good experience. Visiting Petra is a must. About the experience with Viator, I am disappointed because of transportation. As soon as seated in the car the driver told me that the booking was for 7 hours, the 8 hours indicated was because he had to prepare the car and clean before (this is not my problem). He explained that the tour would go from hotel to visitor center and that in 3 hours there I only will be able to see 4 things there (3 hours is according him few time), so he offered me to leave me in the second entrance of Petra to allow me seeing 13 monuments, and the cost for taking me there is 30 JOD (because he had to drive 20 kms go and 20 back). The real is that he drove 4 kms go and 4 back, in 5 minutes and I had to pay an extra 30 JOD. He lied to me and I have to pay that extra . Even he was angry when paying for not giving a tip, after paying 30 JOD for 5 minutes. I felt really disappointed. My suggestion is visiting Petra but do it by yourself......
I had an absolutely great experience.Loiy organized a mile ride and to take me to Wati Rum in the afternoon. Everything was seamless. I saw it all. Thank you. It was expensive but my time was critical. And so worth it😁
Overall the driver was very helpful, honest & clear , he saved us from a bunch of drivers who looked greedy and we definitely recommend this driver & his tours , we did tours in aqaba , even during the crisis in middle east ,he was helpful and didn't take advantage of us.

The Petra experience was an awesome trip from start to finish. Our driver Odai Hamideh "What's apped" us several days prior to the day of the trip to confirm the pickup location and time. His time was flexible because he asked us what time did we want to leave. Also we stayed in Aqaba outside of the pickup zone and he still was able to pickup us for a small fee. Once we got to Petra Odai recommended to take us around to the back entrance and go in there and end up at the main entrance when we were finished. That was a great idea because we got to see more and did not have to backtrack. Once we entered Petra we hired donkeys to take us up to the monestary and back. That was great because we covered more ground quicker. After that we continued our way through Petra taking in all of the beautiful structures along the way. Once we arrived at the Treasury we took a club car back to the entrance and that was recommended by our driver also. This is a remarkable place to visit and pictures do not do any justice. My advice is to enter in the back of Petra take the donkey for a distance and continue making your way to the main entrance because you can see more with less walking. Trip of a Lifetime!
AMAZING!! it was incredible... Petra is so breathtaking and well worth the walk! Our driver was really friendly spoke great english and was happy to stop as and when we needed. He suggested dropping us off at the end of the city, to walk back into petra, so we could see ALL of the sites not just the main treasury ( India Jones!). This took about 3hrs as a leisurely pace and saved us having to walk back another 3hrs! We were lucky, it wasn't busy at all. We got there at midday! Take plenty of water, as it's pretty dear there! There are plenty of toilets along the way to and little shops for last minute snacks. You pick up a map and follow it to see all 13 sights. Super easy! We got the Jordan pass, so this was included saving us the 50JD fee. The little market outside wasn't too pushy and let you look at leasure. As in all a fantastic day out and we'll worth the money. 10/10!
He was an awesome ride and suggested another route to take in Petra, his suggestion made our trip a whole lot better and enjoyable! I 100% recommend taking this trip!
