Karl was an amazing tour guide. Because nobody else had signed up on our day we ended up with a private tour. We thoroughly enjoyed learning about the history of architecture of Genova. The tour went throughout the city and we saw many areas and buildings we wouldn’t have known to visit. The focaccia, pesto, and prosecco were all wonderful! Karl went the extra mile by giving us a written guide to complete a ferry tour of the southern area the next day. I highly recommend this walking tour!
Grazie mille Michelle :-) . Molto gentile e carina. It was my pleasure to spend the day with you and have a nice walking day. Hopefully we will meet somewhere else for a bit more of history and ... prosecco . :-) thank you again . K
Karl was an excellent tour guide! We walked all over the city of Genova and learned so many things I feel like you wouldn't learn on other tours. Karl knew so much of the area and told us stories along the way about the buildings, the time periods they were built and about the people who built them. So much info packed in to this tour which was great! We got to eat some delicious focaccia at a local place which was amazing while drinking prosecco :) I would recommend! Thanks Karl!!
Hello Alana, thank you so much 4for your nice words. It was my pleasure indeed. Doing tour with interesting people is always a pleasure :-). Enjoy life and do not work too much. Remeber to spend your money for flight tickets ;-). Thank you K
Karl is the PERFECT tour guide. He made our experience in Bologna perfect. He was very informative and very excited about showing us his city. His enthusiasm was contagious. You looked forward to every turn as you knew there would be an interesting story. He showed us details, relics, buiding plaques, and so much more that we would have had no idea to even look for, and if we did see them would have had no idea what they meant, he was able to tell us the story behind each things we saw. The Frocaccia and prosecco tasting was must more than a tasting it was a meal. he made sure everyone had plenty of food and we were full before we left restaurant. We went to a very local place to eat, which was just what we asked for. He offered a fancier place, but we wanted to eat where the locals eat, I was truly a wonderful experience. Karl was not a clock watcher - he insisted on stay overtime to ensure we saw everything he wanted us to see. He quickly undersstood our interested and was very focused on showing us what we most wanted and we were never bored. I STRONGLY recommend this tour, it was an excellent way to experience Milan and learn so much history. I would rate this as the #1 tour we did on our 3 week trip through Italy.
Thank you Steven, so mice of you :-). You know, when i meet people that love beuty is easy to do a nice tour. I do it... then... . Again thank you and keep going and go to Asia when you can. Start with Bangkok , but lodge along the river . Ciao and Go Angels :-)
Karl is absolutely amazing. His knowledge of Genovian history was so extremely fascinating. And his story telling skills are impressive. After 7 hours, we still could have learned so much more. I have toured many cities and this was hand downs the best tour experience.
:-) :-) :-). Hugs from me and me knee that at night was telling me to slow down :-). It was a lovely day and thank you instead. Ciao and keep going travel. grazie mille k
Our time with Karl was fantastic! This tour far exceeded our expectations. He enlightened us on the history of the families that made this city. Karl was an excellent storyteller and we learned far more than we would have if we had simply walked through the city on our own. We feel more like family in the way he hosted us as we traveled throughout his city. The meal provided towards the end of the tour was a delicious assembly of Italian flavors and gave us the opportunity to get to know our fellow travelers. We felt that we got more than our money's worth on this tour and were not rushed; highly recommend this tour!

:-) :-) hopefully was not too much walking : Ciao Thank you so much for coming and see this marvelous "poor" city in the wrong hands .-)
Genoa is so beautiful! This was my second time with Karl. My husband & I toured with him in August 2024 and once again with my Mom in May 2025. As she moves slowly these days, Karl was very accommodating. Karl showed us new places that I didn't see 6 month earlier. Also, the restaurant was different. So the whole experience was great...again! The food was amazing and plentiful. Karl & his partner made sure that we were on the correct train back to our ship.
