Une fois que nous vous avons recueilli de l'endroit choisi vers 7h00, nous vous transférons à la TranzAlpine pour l'un des trajets ferroviaires les plus pittoresques au monde. Profitez de vues alpines à couper le souffle depuis des fenêtres panoramiques ou la calèche en plein air. Votre Guide vous retrouvera à la gare du col Arthur pour commencer votre excursion en montagne.
Pendant que vous appréciez le trajet ferroviaire, votre Guide vous attend directement sur le quai de la gare du col Arthur. De là, nous nous rendrons au belvédère du viaduc d'Otira pour admirer des vues spectaculaires, y compris les fleurs rouges éclatantes de Rata en été. Gardez un œil sur l’effronté Kea, le curieux perroquet alpin de Nouvelle-Zélande ! Notre exploration de la montagne se poursuit avec une visite de la superbe cascade d'Avalanche Creek et de plusieurs autres points forts pittoresques du parc national.
Pour le moment fort de votre après-midi, nous vous recommandons vivement la piste de marche Devils Punchbowl. Une promenade tranquille d'une heure vous mènera à travers une forêt de hêtres luxuriante jusqu'à la base d'une chute d'eau tonitruante de 131 mètres. La seule puissance de l'eau et la brume sur votre visage font de cette expérience alpine inoubliable
Après votre promenade, profitez d’un temps d’arrêt bien mérité dans le charmant village d’Arthur’s Pass. Vous aurez tout le loisir de déjeuner dans un café local, de parcourir le centre d'accueil historique ou de simplement vous imprégner de l'atmosphère paisible de la montagne avant de poursuivre notre voyage
Notre voyage de retour à Christchurch prend un itinéraire différent par la route, offrant des paysages que les rails de train n'atteignent pas. Notre premier arrêt est le lac Pearson serein. Ce lac de haute campagne est célèbre pour ses reflets vitreux et miroirs des montagnes environnantes – un rêve de photographe et un endroit parfait pour une pause paisible l’après-midi.
Arrêt à Flock Hill : Découvrez le superbe lieu de tournage de Narnia. Ce site a été présenté dans Le Lion, la Sorcière et l'Armoire de Disney comme le champ de bataille principal – un cadre spectaculaire entouré par la beauté accidentée de la vallée de Craigieburn.
Notre dernier moment fort : Découvrez le « Trésor d'Afar » à Kura Tāwhiti. Pour les iwis Ngāi Tahu, cette zone détient le statut de Tōpuni – un manteau symbolique de protection sur ses valeurs sacrées. En parcourant la piste d'accès facile, recherchez des traces de dessins au fusain vieux de 500 ans et apprenez comment ces roches ont été formées il y a 30 millions d'années lorsque la Nouvelle-Zélande était encore sous une mer intérieure peu profonde.
Délaissant les montagnes, nous traversons les vastes plaines de Canterbury. Nous faisons un dernier arrêt délicieux dans la ville rurale de Springfield pour voir le célèbre beignet géant – un repère incontournable ! À partir de là, c’est une dernière étape relaxante vers la ville, où nous faisons nos adieux et vous déposons à l’endroit choisi.

- Veuillez noter que cette visite peut fonctionner en marche arrière pendant l'été d'octobre à avril. Si les billets de train du matin sont épuisés, vous voyagerez de Arthur’s Pass à Christchurch dans l’après-midi. Puisque le soleil se couche à la fin de l'été, vous profiterez encore de tout le voyage en plein jour avec des vues spectaculaires.

I thoroughly enjoyed this tour. Our guide, whose name I didn’t get, did a wonderful job taking us around Arthur’s Pass and Castle Hill and providing information on the area. The bus was delayed picking up the group in Arthur’s Pass after the train ride, but the company did a great job with keeping the group updated as to when our guide would arrive. The hike up to the Devil’s Punchbowl Falls was worth it, and the loop at Castle Hill was great as well. I would recommend this tour.

I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of this tour. I cant recommend it enough for the solo traveller. The other participants were lovely, the guide was fabulous, and the scenery was mind blowing. The many stops to take photographs and go for good walks were just the right amount.

We had a fantastic day. It was a great way to see the country side as well as explore the forest and see the waterfalls at Arthur's Pass. VJ was our tour guide and he was very knowledgeable. We started the day by taking the Alpine Train to Arthur's pass. Then VJ took us to beautiful scenic spot and showed us where filming took place for the Lion the witch and the wardrobe. He also shared NZ snacks with us. It was a wonderful way to spend a day in Christchurch.

I did enjoy our tour from Christchurch via TranzAlpine to Arthurs’ path and back to the city. Our tour guide are accommodating and providing good insights and explanation. He provides guidance or alternative activity for some who cant do a hike. We did a couple of small stops for scenic lookout when we are going back to the City. The tour was not rush and we are able to be back to the city earlier than expected Highly recommended tour!
