Le village populaire coréen présente la culture traditionnelle de la fin de la période Joseon aux visiteurs locaux et internationaux à travers des cours culturels, la foi chamane, les coutumes saisonnières et d'autres. En outre, le village montre divers endroits avec des caractéristiques uniques telles qu’un village agricole, une maison privée, des quartiers officiels, l’académie confucéenne, seodang (école du village), et une rue du village dans des descriptions réalistes, ainsi qu’une maison de noble et un atelier traditionnel. Des spectacles tels que Nongak (musique paysanne), art martial à cheval, cérémonie de mariage traditionnelle et autres événements spéciaux sont disponibles selon la saison. En particulier, « Welcome to Joseon », qui a lieu chaque année au mois de mai, est une performance mettant en vedette des voyages dans le temps remontant au bon vieux temps.
Suwon Hwaseong est un site du patrimoine mondial de l'UNESCO situé à Suwon, en Corée du Sud. Il a été construit à la fin du XVIIIe siècle par le roi Jeongjo comme forteresse et complexe de palais. Les murs de la forteresse s'étendent sur près de 6 kilomètres et sont parsemés de quatre portes et d'un certain nombre de tours de guet. Vous pourrez vous promener le long des murs, explorer les bâtiments du palais et profiter de spectacles et d'événements culturels organisés sur le site.
Le marché de Suwon Nammun est un marché traditionnel situé à Suwon, en Corée du Sud. Le marché a une histoire qui remonte à la dynastie Joseon, et c'est l'un des plus grands et plus anciens marchés du pays. Le marché est situé près de la célèbre forteresse de Hwaseong, qui est un site du patrimoine mondial de l'UNESCO. (Ce spot sera sauté tous les mers à partir de juin~août)

The summer tours start in the afternoon to avoid the heat of the day - and that is an absolute necessity! Even with the shift in the schedule, I had a hard time dealing with the heat at times - so come prepared (water, a fan, umbrella for the sun etc)! Harry was a great guide. He went out of his way to minimize the impact of the heat. At each of the three stops, he gave us an introduction to the area and then allowed us to explore on our own if we wanted to at the fortress and the following village, we also had the option of staying with him for additional guided touring. The option was greatly appreciated - I was able to see what I wanted of the fortress at my own pace before buying an ice cream and drink and finding some shade. The folk village does involve a lot of walking - most of it shaded - if you want to take advantage of it. There are some great food options - traditional Korean items - that are perfect for a quick dinner (the sweet rice drink was delicious!). And the night time music and dance performance was outstanding - the seats (on stone steps and a few logs) fill up early, so I recommend getting there ahead of time for the best view (so you can see the stage from the front). A great way to see some things outside of Seoul! Highly recommend.
Enjoyable day. Harry was passionate in showing and describing our featured stops. Wonderful performance at the folk village! Performance alone was worth the tour. Suggest you eat in town, not the folk village.
The tour was great, especially the Folk Village! Harry was the BEST guide!! He was very welcoming, organized and went out of his way to make sure we were having a good time. He shared so much interesting information along the tour and we learned so much!
Exceptional tour. As i was the only English speaker in the group, I had my own guide who gave me a lot of insight and information about the tour destinations. It was a good combination of guided and individual time to explore. Plenty of opportunities to eat throughout the day as well. I loved the folk village - it is so big you definitely don't have time to explore it in full during the tour, but now i know i want to head back there on my next Korea trip.
This was a great history of Josun full day tour. Although it was a little difficult to fully understand our guide, she did an amazing job of sharing her knowledge of the dynasty and current culture. The Folk village was great for our family (think EPCOT). The highlight of the trip was the visit to the music culture hall (Wednesdays only). After visiting the Fortress, we visited the market in Suwon, which was meh, but interesting to see an authentic market. Plan for a long day. Definitely recommend if you have the time.
This was a great day out. Our guide was very informative about Korea’s history and he looked after us well. I can’t believe I actually sang Arirang with Gugak musicians. Well worth the tour fee.
Be sure to wear your walking shoes and bring a hat & sunscreen if it’s a sunny day. Our tour guide (Laura) was very knowledgeable.
The Folk Village was my favorite part. Nice to see a broader range of history than just palaces. The Fortress was also interesting, if a bit of a hike. I wasn’t expecting a trip to a traditional market in Suwon, and having already been to one in Seoul, it was not the best use of time. I would rather have had more time at the Folk Village.
If you only have one day, this tour is the one to choose! Be sure to wear your comfy shoes for walking. :) Gina was knowledgeable and organized which made everything run smoothly. There’s no way we could have fit so much in if we tried touring alone. Thank you for a great day!
