A good way to see key western Algarve sights in one day. But it is a long day, nearly 11.5 hours for us as we were the first pick up and last drop off from Olhos de Água. First stop was Silves where we had an hour which was just enough to get up to the Castelo de Silves and have a look before heading back to the bus. Unfortunately no time for coffee. Then up to Fioa, at 902m the highest point in the Algarve for some good views and a good coffee for just 2€. We passed through Monchique an attractive village where we’d been told we’d stop for lunch but we went straight on past the nesting storks to Lagos where we’d had 2 hours for lunch and visit the slavery museum. We found a lovely pizza restaurant in an attractive square and chose to amble round the old town and shops before rejoining the bus. Last stop was Cap St Vincent the most south western tip of Europe, the end of the world! (USA 5000km away on the other side of the Atlantic) Then nearly 2 hours back to our hotel with the other drop offs. Our guide was great informing us all in English, German and French of the histories of our stops. They did their best to organise the pick ups and drop offs with extra coaches to minimise the transfer times for everyone but it felt like a lot of time on the bus. However we did manage over 10,000 steps so it wasn’t too bad! We could have easily spent more time at each stop - Lagos was very nice - but a great way to see the area without taking up too much time away from the beach/pool/ sunbed!
I booked this tour. Meet me at 8:20 at my Inn. The coach did not even wait for us 2 minutes it left at 8h21 from the Pension!!! I did not go to the excursion late by 1 minute! Scammers who won't even pay me back!!!
very scenic, great guide comfortable bus, kept on time old world cultural and coat line charm
We enjoyed Silves, castle & cathedral. St. Vincent Cape was stunning. Taking us all to one restaurant for lunch with set price was not appreciated. Also, over 2 hours with out a bathroom for St. Vincent was tough. Needed a toilet stop before or after. Guide was translating in 4 languages. When we were out of the bus, she could have pulled together one language(ex. German) given info & dismissed so the next group could get closer to her & hear. Most of the time we couldn’t hear what she had to say
Get a taxi don’t waste your money this company is a joke 3 hour journey and we didn’t arrive until 4 am 3 kids in tow pay extras save half your holiday
It was vers interesting. A lot to visit. The guide was interesting She was talking in 4 différents languages
Beautiful scenery, exquisite views from mountain top and seaside cliffs! Great tour of the Western Algarve. A good way to see as much as possible if you are only in Portugal for a short period of time. Tour guide was excellent (Celia) and she kept everything on time! Appreciated that lunch was offered, but the food was not worth the price. The server was not friendly, the french fries tasted of oil, the dessert was more of a confection than dessert. Tour company should consider finding a different venue for lunch, or express dissatisfaction with the meal and service provided.
Even though we did not spend alot of time in each place, it was lovely to see so many places in one day. Ana the guide was so lovely, nothing was too much trouble. Her English and German was explanatory. If you want to see a few places in the western Algarve in one day, this trip is for you xx thank you Ana
