Very informative but sobering day

We really enjoyed the whole day. It was very informative and sobering, but Hasan certainly was so knowledgeable , and had such a great lot of photos to show us. The lunch was very nice, plenty for everyone. The only down side for my husband and myself, was the it being such a hot day. Hasan certainly made the the day with plenty of jokes and fun things. We would certainly recommend this tour.

Day tour to Gallipoli from Istanbul

This is a long day, about 15 hours as it is 4 hours distance from Istanbul. However it is well worth it. Our guide Gagri (Charlie) was excellent. Good English, good history knowledge and a sense of humour.

Best ever. Did not disappoint.

Our lovely tour guide I think Hanan was simply amazing. Picking up from hotel to Gallipoli and dropping back was absolutely superb. I went on the guidance of other reviews and I was so not disapppinted. It was excellent and although a very long day to learn all about the anzacs was incredible and a very good history lesson for us Aussies. Thankyou.

Unforgettable Day at Gallipoli

We had the most unforgettable day exploring Gallipoli with our fabulous guide Cindy. She had amazing knowledge of the history & the involvement of the different countries & told it in such an interesting, compassionate & insightful way it made it very special . We travelled in a private luxury air conditioned bus & were able to spend as much time as we needed at each stop to explore. Thank you Crowded House tours we had a fabulous day.

Learning about Gallipoli campaign

It was amazing day learning about Gallipoli campaign from our tour guide. The drive there was pleasant and the lunch service was good. My tour guide Charlie was amazing sharing accounts from my both sides of the conflict. He talked about the strategies, geography and objectives during the war. I would highly recommend him for others as well

Huge amounts of dead time

Seeing Gallipoli was fantastic but I also didn’t think they actually respected our time very well and we could have seen way more. After lunch there was a bunch of dead time (20 minutes) then it was half an hour going towards the actual site where our chatted but he only started talking about the landings once we got to a statue (Respect to Mehmetçik Monument) where the van backed into trees so we couldn’t even see it. At that point there was 35 minutes of our guide actually talking about the landings. I asked why we were just sitting in some bushes and he kept talking for more than 10 minutes. Once he was done we had 5 minutes to see the monument before we got back into the van. It was like that a lot where he’d talk for 10-15 minutes then give us 5-10 minutes to actually see it and it would’ve been more impactful if he’d talked more and pointed stuff out instead of giving us info and then letting us wander. Overall I’m happy I saw what we did but it was a bummer not seeing helles or achi especially because there was definitely time for it if we’d just been moving. I don’t regret it but you could find a place that respects your time more

Dear Spencer Gibson Thank you for your review. The tour you booked is a small group tour not a private one and we have an itinerary and a timing to follow. And we followed the same timing and itinerary on Jluy 7th as we have been doing the last 15 years. Eceabat where you have the lunch is the closest town to the ANZAC sites and it takes about only 10 15 minutes to the first spot on the tour. The talk can not be called a chat, our guide Charlie gave the general information about the Gallipoli campaign and explained how the events started in 1915 as he always do. He stppped there to give shade for all the group members because in July the weather is too hot. And each cemetery and monument has a unique story to tell that is why fort he next stops he gave more information and give free time to have a look around. And the duration of the free time depends on the size of the cemerety or monument. But it is definitely not 5 to 10 minutes more than that. Helles and Achibaba is located on the southern tip of the Gallipoli peninsula and on the day tours from / to Istanbul because of timing it is not possible to get there. And on the tour itinerary we definetely do not have these 2 spots. We recommend you to book a private tour and have a look deeply on the itinerary you book for your future bookings to have the time you need on the sites. Safe Travels

Great experience

Fantastic experience. Picked up from our hotel and dropped back at the end of the day. I was not expecting much as a lunch though was pleasantly surprised it was a sit down lunch before the tour. Our tour guide Charlie was very personable, knowledgeable, friendly and passionate. Lots of stories and insights into the Gallipoli story. Would highly recommend.
