Cette ville est la capitale de la province de Cañar, en passant, nous aurons de superbes vues sur la ville et notre guide vous expliquera l'influence de l'architecture moderne apportée d'outre-mer.
Cette église a un style architectural gothique très distinctif, datant de la fin du 19ème siècle. Il est construit à flanc de colline et très souvent, vous trouverez des habitants marchant sur la colline escarpée jusqu'à l'église en hommage à la vierge. Ensuite, nous visiterons une famille indigène où nous observerons le tissage des chapeaux de Panama. C'est l'un des métiers les plus authentiques du sud de l'Équateur et joue un rôle de premier plan dans l'économie de la région. Nous continuons notre visite avec une balade à travers les montagnes enchanteresses, en profitant des belles vues le long du chemin.
Ingapirca est le principal site archéologique inca de l'Équateur. Les adorateurs du soleil ont construit ce temple-forteresse dans la vallée de Cañar au 15ème siècle. Il est situé à environ 60 miles au nord-est de Cuenca à une altitude de 10500 pieds au-dessus du niveau de la mer. Nous trouvons ici l’une des structures incas les plus importantes, une plate-forme elliptique connue sous le nom de «Temple du Soleil» entourée de cours, de terrasses et de diverses autres structures. Afin de voir de plus près l’atmosphère locale, nous ferons une petite randonnée pour observer le visage de l’Inca, un grand affleurement de pierre.

I really enjoyed this visit to Ingapirca and learned so much history about the Cañaris and Incas. The countryside is so beautiful and was a nice comfortable drive, with fun stops along the way. It feels really special to visit the site, and Andrés was an excellent guide and very knowledgeable. Would definitely recommend this day trip, either private or as a shared tour.
