This was the highlight of our New Orleans trip. Ryan was an awesome accommodating and knowledgeable guide full of interesting historical and ecological facts during the swamp tour. Lunch was very tasty and the Whitney tour was sobering and enlightening and truly a must-do.
Peaceful, pretty paddle with spring blooms and native birds including an owl and osprey. We spotted a couple of alligators. Ryan took us to a little known but great little barbecue place for lunch and then checked us in at the Whitney Plantation. The visuals and narrative here brought slave experiences to life in a unique sacred way. Ryan then drove us back to town offering great insight about the area.
The day was great fun! Our guide Ryan, was knowledgeable and great company. Everything promised in the trip description was delivered. I would do this tour every time I was in the area.
We had a brilliant time on this trip which felt like a private tour as it was just the two of us booked. Ali, our tour guide is a wealth of information and very passionate about conservation. She really made our day very special from her laid back style, nothing was rushed. Kayaking in the swamps was relaxed and surroundings were stunning. Lunch overlooking the lake was excellent. Ali picked a perfect spot. Highly recommend Whitney plantation - very sobering and informative. We were very fortunate to visit this time of year as no crowds of tourist so it felt very personal I’d highly recommend this combo and thank Ali for sharing her knowledge and making this experience very special
What a delightful trip. Our guide was so friendly and knowledgeable. She tailored our trip to our interests and pointed out lots of wildlife (especially birds) and how the ecosystem works.
The swamp tour was fantastic. Our guide, Stephanie, was a wealth of knowledge and made the whole day relaxed, fun and still informative. The self-paced plantation tour was also really well put together with lots of spots to stop and sit in the shade while you listen.
Amazing morning on the serene swamp with beauty and wildlife. Go early in the morning as the temperatures are comfortable and bring your phone for pics (or camera in a dry bag). This tour was fantastic- we were 2 solo women with our guide, Stephanie. We had a great time and Stephanie knew everything about the swamp habitat. This company does not feed the wildlife marshmallows or other crap. Feeding the wildlife desensitizes them to humans and it’s also not good for them (raccoons can’t brush their teeth after all that sugar) so tourists that pay for tours that do this are inadvertently harming the wildlife. We stopped at a great place for lunch and then did a tour of the Whitney plantation, which was very educational. The plantation provides recorded tour but there were also staff there giving free in-person tours as well. I completely recommend this company & Stephanie as a guide.
Had such a great day, I really recommend this company and this tour. The kayaking was so beautiful and we saw some amazing wildlife (alligators, turtles, many egrets and herons, a hawk!). Early in the morning was very peaceful. The lunch stop at freniers landing was also very nice and in a beautiful spot. Whitney plantation was fascinating and humbling. They did a great job of presenting the impact of slavery in this area. Many many thanks to Stephanie for taking the tour ans sharing your knowledge!
Amazing time! Getting to immerse yourself in the swamp and be surrounded by nature is breath taking. Alex was so informative and personal. Made sure all our needs were taken care of.
My partner and I did the combo kayak and plantation tour. Nick and Stephanie were a great team, they led us through the swamp with ease. They have a great knowledge of the environment and wildlife and their love for what they do made it a super enjoyable experience! It was my first time in a kayak but I felt completely comfortable. We had some sunshine and some rain on the bayou, both equally beautiful, and saw some beautiful birds, mammals and flowers. 10/10 After the kayak tour Stephanie took us to a great local lunch spot and on to the Whitney plantation. She shared loads of history and recommendations for the rest of our trip and not only is she a great guide, she's great company too. We had a fantastic day and would highly recommend this tour!
